I basically spent most of the early morning (before the sun had the decency to grace us with its presence) reading Andrea Laurence's Seduced by the Spare Heir. I have to say that I enjoyed the story immensely, and it has me wanting to go back and read the other stories from the other authors that are part of this dynasty collection. Anyway, in Seduced by the Spare Heir we meet Gabriel Montoro (Gabe) who is about to have his world turn upside down. He is now forced to be come the King of Alma after his father is no longer in line, because he didn't followed the correct procedure in a divorce and his brother abdicated the throne. Lucky him. Now he has change his playboy ways and he's going to need help. Fortunately, he knows someone who can help him, Serafia Espina. Now Serafia use to be a model, but her career was cut short due to health issues. Now she's teaches young ladies or whoever in need of help in decorum.
Yes, Gabe is selfish, but he's the second son and normally they live a life whatever goes. However, we learn that he used to follow the rules until an incident that happen which changed his attitude. I can't fault the guy for being a bit selfish and willing to do whatever he wants to get his way. Then we have Serafia who was working her way to the top of modeling when her heart gave out. She actually had to learn how live again. I liked how she helps Gabe to become the man his country needs. I liked the story. I actually, like how Andrea incorporated Serafia health problems to be anorexia. It's something you hear about, but we kind of gloss over because the thing that is talked about is obesity. Anorexia can be just as scary. I knew a guy who actually died of health complications due to anorexia when he was younger. I liked that Andrea was able to work issues into Gabe and Serafia. I did like that they weren't perfect, but looked on the outside. Looks can be deceiving.
Overall, Seduced by the Spare Heir is a pretty good story. I did enjoy how Gabe decided he needed to fix things with Serafia and make everything right. Like I said it makes me want to read the previous books in the series, and the future stories.

Falling for the P.I. by Victoria James (Review)
I have a feeling that the Still Harbor stories aren't going to be an easy reads. What I mean is that they might be a bit emotional. We meet three sisters of the heart in Falling for the P.I., and they have bonded when they met at a shelter. Each of these women have a past that might be little dark. However, we are focusing on Kate Abbott (Alex McAllister and Cara will have their own books).
Now Kate is a sweet woman who cares deeply for her adopted daughter who happens to have Down Syndrome. However, she has no social life outside of her sisters and the kids. So, Alex and Cara thought it might be time for Kate to have some fun and find a guy. She stumbles upon Matt Lane. Matt Lane is a private investigator who doesn't do relationships. However, he's drawn to Kate and is willing to take a chance. When he finds out she has a kid, he's still willing to see what happens next.
Sounds pretty simple, right? That's what you are led to believe until we dive deeper into the story. Kate's past isn't an easy one. Actually when we find out the truth behind it, it's pretty rough, and we grasp a better understanding behind her mistrust with cops.
I liked this story, because we have Matt who is a decent guy, but Kate past kind of puts up roadblocks in the relationship. Actually, one of guys that Matt knows is the leading cause to Kate's issues. I know super vague, but I just don't want to give too much away. Anyway, I just adore how Matt is understanding to Kate and her daughter. Overall, I found Falling for the P.I. a sweet read. It might have taken sometime for Kate to trust Matt, but he was patient. He definitely won me over with his patience. It's a feel good book, but towards the ending is a little rough with Kate's past being reveal.

Now he's at the mercy of the captivating Miss Ivory Moore of Chegarre & Associates, known throughout London for smoothing over the most dire of scandals.
Miss Moore treats the crisis as though it were no more serious than a cup of spilt tea on an expensive rug. As though this sort of thing happened on the job every day. Max has never in all his life met a woman with such nerve. Her dark eyes are too wide, her mouth is too full, her cheekbones too sharp. Yet together, she's somehow...flawless. “Adventure, passion and pure reading
pleasure!” –Jo Beverley
After the death of his sweetheart when
he was at university, Daniel Herbert buried his grief in medical studies and
his passion for healing. Viewed as a saint by those who know him, in his own
mind he never quite manages to live up to his own high standards.
Most men would be thrilled to learn
they’ve inherited a title and estate from a distant relative, but Daniel is
appalled because the burden of wealth will interfere with his medical
calling. Warily he accepts that he must enter society and seek a wife—a
sensible woman who can oversee his properties, leaving him free to continue his
work. He does not expect to become intoxicated by a woman called the Black
Widow, who is as mysterious as she is shockingly beautiful…
Jessie Kelham’s looks have always been a
curse. Now alone with a young daughter and a perilous secret, she is in need of
protection. But dangerously attractive Daniel Herbert is not the kind of
husband she has in mind. If he recognizes her, the demons of her past will
surely erupt. Yet they cannot keep apart—and soon they are drawn into a union
that may bring joy—or shattering danger…

Welcome to
the charming, fatefully named village of Loves Bridge, where a woman destined
for spinsterhood can live a life of her own choosing—or
fall unexpectedly, madly in love…
Miss
Isabelle Catherine Hutting would rather be lounging in the library than
circling the ballroom in search of a husband any day. So when Cat hears that
the town’s infamous Spinster House is open for a new resident, she jumps at the
chance to put all this marriage business behind her. But first she must make
arrangements with her prospective landlord, Marcus, the Duke of Hart—the most
handsome man she’s ever seen, and the only man who’s ever impressed her in the
least…
With her
wit, independent spirit, and not least of all her beauty, Marcus can’t help but
be stirred by Cat. It’s terribly unfortunate he’s not looking to marry, given
the centuries-old curse that left his family with the Spinster House to begin
with. No duke shall live to see his heir’s birth. But is there a
chance the curse could be broken—in true fairy-tale fashion—by an act of true
love? The race to Happily Ever After is about to begin…

Even Vampires Get the Blues by Sandra Hill (Review)
I have to say that I enjoyed Even Vampires Get the Blues by Sandra Hill. I must say that this is my first time reading A Deadly Angels Book even though I have one on my kindle. Yeah, it was on sale, and I'm a sucker for a sale. Anyway, Even Vampires Get the Blues is the sixth book in the series (can't break tradition here).
For those who are like me who haven't picked up the series yet is about some vikings that weren't being too good the Archangel Michael basically saved their souls and turns them into vampire angels. Each one has a version of the deadly sin. Our hero today Harek Sigurdsson sin is greed. He was a very greed viking who was dabbling in the slave trade when he was a live. So, he thought money and power were the way to go, before he changed. As I'm reading this story I pictured Harek as Alexander Skarsgård, after all he did play a viking vampire in True Blood. Sorry I'm digressing. Basically, he needs to change his way otherwise he will be eternally damned. Jump ahead to the modern age and he still has a problem with greed among other things. He may be hot and sexy, but he still has a lot to learn.
Then we have Camille Dumaine who happens to an awesome Navy Seal (WEALS). Her nickname is Camo. On the outside she seems like a plain jane that could kick anyones butt, but looks can be deceiving as Harek learns while he escorts Camille to a wedding. Anyway, Harek gets roped into going cause he needs to fill Camille on an assignment they are working on together. However, its more than that he might have possibly found his life mate, but he is in serious denial. Okay, Harek is pretty vain, so he doesn't understand why he would be attract to such a plain jane like Camille. At the same time Camille is like oh no, I can't be attracted to him this would end up to being fourth disastrous relationship. Of course, Harek past comes into play to their budding relationship, which causes a blip.
All right, who doesn't love sexy viking vampire angel. Anyway, I liked this story, because we have humor. Harek cracks me up, because he's just so cocky. However, he gets knocked down a peg or two when he's with Camille. He's able to come to terms with his past and learn, and Camille was able to overcome her ancestors past which is the reason Harek and Camille have a falling out. We also find action with the fight between Lucipires (demon vampires, yeah I know I didn't touch on that). It has a great combination of action, steam, and romance. Eventually, I will get Harek's brothers, and I do like the take on the seven deadly sins.

The Prince and I by Karen Hawkins (Review)
First and foremost, I must say that the Grand Duchess, known to her grandson's as Tata Natasha is a menace to society and they seriously need to lock her up. She seems to find herself in a pickle every time. It also doesn't help that she's stubborn as a mule and she threatens everyone that she's not happy with to turn them into a goat. Glad to clear the air and on Tata, now I better hide before she turns me into a goat.
Okay, I couldn't put The Prince and I down. Seriously, I almost read this in one day. I thought this is a fun read. Then again I love the story of Robin Hood. There are so many versions out there, but my personal favorite one would be the Disney one. However, I'm digressing here. Basically, The Prince and I is a retelling of Robin Hood, but with a slight twist. Instead of the Prince being Robin we have Lady Murian who takes from the rich to give her band widows and children. I love how she does, because she doesn't force them to give up their possessions merely asks for donation for their cause. You have to admit that is pretty clever. So, we see Prince Gregori Maksim Alexsandr Romanovin (Max) is intrigued by this lady and decides to find out what is going. When he finds out, he feels duty bound to help Murian. Such a strong character. I absolutely love Murian's character, because during her adversity she didn't wilt and decide to give up. Which would have been totally easy, NO, she decided to fight for what was right even taken on the evil Earl of Loudan. The man is evil. He really played up the Prince John type character. You didn't see Loudan a lot in the story, but mainly his actions. Very sleazy guy, especially when he conned Tata in giving up a priceless heirloom. See Tata needs to be stop from herself. I feel bad for her grandsons.
Overall, Karen does an amazing job on retelling Robin Hood. I love that she changed the male protagonist in Robin Hood to a female. This makes it a unique retelling of the story. We see the witty conversation between Max and Murian. I have to say that was surprise by some of the parts of the story in a good way. However, I think one of my favorite parts of the story would have to be when Max figures out Murian was the bandits they came across on the way to the castle. He basically goads her, by saying the bandits had a malodorous. I lost it right there, because Murian was getting offended. Seriously, a light fun read, and will have you smiling at the end. I can't wait to see what kind of trouble Tata Natasha will cook up in the next book.

Desire Me Now by Tiffany Clare (Review)
In Desire Me Now, we meet Amelia Grant and Nicholas Riley. Basically, Amelia is running away from her previous life. We don't know why until a little later in the story. She's had a run of bad luck up until she meets Nick. Basically, comes in rescuing Amelia. Her experience with men in general hasn't been too good, so she is a leery on Nick intentions. When Nick rescues Amelia he sees two things: 1) A wounded soul 2) A desire to have this woman. He needs to gain her trust.
First off, Desire Me Now starts out a little slow, and I think part of that stems from Nick trying to gain Amelia's trust. It takes majority of this story to gain that trust. We watch Nick showing that he's a trust worthy guy. There are few times Amelia is afraid that he's going to control her and Nick had to basically break it down for her:
Yes, we see the beginnings of their relationship. There is more to the story like the past she's running away from which happens to be her brother. Yes, it abruptly stops with a cliffhanger. However, it's a serial. The ending of this part leaves you wonder what's going to happen, since her brother has popped into picture. Is he going to cause trouble for Amelia and Nick? I guess we have to wait and see.

"I might be master of this household, but I am not a master over any person, including you."He basically letting her know I'm not going to force you to be with me.
"You will come to me of your own free will and on equal footing, Amelia. I won't have you any other way."He is sure of himself.
