Published: Sourcebooks Casablanca (Nov 2014)
Series: The Rake's Handbook, 1
Genre: Historical Romance

Blurb:

The definitive guide to seduction…

The Rake’s Handbook was written on a dare, and soon took the ton by storm. Now its author, Ross Thornbury, is publicly reviled by the ladies—who are, of course, forbidden to read the handbook—but privately revered by the gentlemen. Unfortunately, Ross’s notoriety is working against him and he flees London painfully aware of the shortcomings of his own jaded heart.

Spirited young widow Elinor Colton lives next to Ross’s country estate. She’s appalled not only by his rakish reputation, but also by his progressive business plans. Elinor is sure she is immune to Ross’s seductive ways. But he keeps coming around…impressing her with his vision for England’s future and stunning her with his smiles.

How does one resist the man who wrote the manual on love?

The Viscount's Christmas Temptation by Erica Ridley (Review)

Yesterday, I felt like I needed a quick read and something a little lighter. I'm glad to say that I have found with Erica Ridley's The Viscount's Christmas Temptation. Let me just say that this story was kind of fun. Cause you have Lady Amelia Pembroke who is the sister of the Duke of Ravenwood. Now she's describe in the book as a managing sort of person. However, I think of it more like Type A to the extreme. She also has other quirks I'm not going to go into. Anyway, she has decided she wants to find a husband and decides to find one at the Sheffield Seventy-Fifth Annual Christmas Eve Ball. One problem: Sheffield has decided to cancel cause of the ballroom was damage. Being the managing sort of person Amelia has decided to rectified the situation with her solution.

Save Staveley Campaign #FAIL

All right, a couple of months ago Ava start talking about killing off Viscount Staveley. So, I started the campaign of saving Staveley in hopes that Ava wouldn't kill him off. I wasn't the only one who was against the idea of killing Staveley, author Jane Charles agreed with me. Soon I started to make Bitstrips about saving Staveley.

This was the first one. I thought it was quite funny. Jane agreed with me. However, are urgings were going no where. So, the next one appeared.

A Scandalous Deception by Ava Stone (Review)

For the longest time I had been putting off A Scandalous Deception. Now you wonder why, because we all know how much I love Ava's writing. There are some things I know about this book, that make me sad. It has to do with an secondary character. Honestly, he wasn't a huge character always in the background, and occasionally he would popup here and there. So, knowing what will happen eventually I was a little leery to start the story. However, I have to read the story in order to do the next part of a blog post. That's my explanation on why it took me so long to finish. Anyway, my thoughts on A Scandalous Deception.

Demon Undamned by Andris Bear (Review)

Well, this lovely selection has been waiting for me patiently to read him. Who am I kidding Chamos (the anti-hero) hasn't been waiting for me patiently. Would you believe me that he has been giving me the stink-eye since August? The nerve  of some characters. Anyway, this is the fifth story in Andris Bear's Deadly Sins books. If you had read the first book Angel Unborn you would have remember meeting Chamos. If you haven't let me introduce him.

·       When Ruby Rhodes meets Jane Coblentz for the first time in the middle of a hurricane.   (Welcome to Last Chance)
Riding out the hurricane had just reached a new level of tedium when a woman wearing a bright yellow rain slicker and a pair of matching pants opened the door and said, "Goodness gracious, who are you?"
The newcomer had a round face with a riot of curls that had been permed into place.  She was carrying a large Tupperware lunch bucket filled with fried chicken.
"Uh, I'm Jane."  Jane scrambled to her feet as the woman carefully scrutinized her.  The woman's gaze swept over the sleeping bag, Jane's oversized sweatshirt, and her wet jeans, jacket, and tank top hung over a folding chair.
Something seemed to hang in the balance for an instant, and then the woman let go of a large and genuine smile.  "Oh dear me, I'm sorry, darlin', I must have scared you nearly 'bout to death.  Let me introduce myself.  I'm Clay's momma, Ruby.  I just brought him some dinner."
Ohmygod, his mother!   Jane stifled the urge to tug on the neck of the sweatshirt.  Heaven help her if the hickey was visible.

By: Melissa Foster
Releasing December 15th, 2014

Blurb
FLIRTING WITH LOVE is the newest addition to the BRADEN series by New York Times & USA Today bestselling and award-winning author Melissa Foster. This contemporary romance series features alpha male heroes and sexy, empowered women. They’re flawed, funny, passionate, and very relatable to readers who enjoy new adult romance, contemporary romance, and women’s fiction.

IN FLIRTING WITH LOVE…

Elisabeth Nash has spent years dreaming of returning to the small town of Trusty, Colorado, where she spent summers with her favorite aunt. When she inherits her aunt’s farmette, she closes her Los Angeles pet bakery and pampering business, sure that life in Trusty will be as peaceful and as welcoming as she remembers. But being an outsider in the close-knit town proves to be very different from the happy summers she remembers from her childhood—and falling for Trusty’s hot, wealthy, and sinfully irresistible veterinarian, Ross Braden, sends the rumor mill into a frenzy.

Ross Braden learned long ago that gossip spreads faster than weeds in his small hometown, and Ross loves nothing more than his privacy.  For that reason, he doesn’t date women who live in Trusty. But that was before blond, beautiful, and refreshingly honest Elisabeth Nash flew into his vet clinic seeking help for her panicked piglet and turned his comfortable life—and his heart—inside out.

Despite rumors about Elisabeth’s motives toward her aunt’s property, passion brews between Elisabeth and Ross. Every steamy kiss and every sensual touch brings the pair closer together, and when Ross helps Elisabeth try to fit into the town he adores, it makes their bond even stronger. But even Elisabeth’s efforts toward reaching the community, and the love she and Ross so desperately believe in, might not be enough for the protective small town to offer them a future.

A Wing & A Prayer by Andrea Laurence (Review)

Normally I don't add the book blurb, but I think this one is kind of important cause I just can't reword in a way that doesn't leave anything out.

More Than Words: Bestselling authors and real-life heroines
Making a difference…transforming lives… This year, the recipients of Harlequin's More Than Words Award are three women whose selfless deeds and far-reaching goals are helping to build stronger, safer communities. Now three bestselling Harlequin authors honor these remarkable women with stories inspired by their extraordinary contributions.
In A Wing & A Prayer, Atlanta businessman Dylan Alexander is committed to getting children the medical attention they need. And he has to admit, he enjoys flying single mom Jo Nichols and her son, Zack, from St. Simon's Island to Baltimore on his private jet. Now if he could just stop fantasizing about the three of them as a family…
Jo owes everything to Miracle Flights for Kids…and the six-foot CEO who volunteers his time and compassion. But past experience has taught her that acting on their growing attraction would be a mistake. All bets are off when Dylan and her son start seriously bonding. Are blue skies up ahead? Only if she and the once-burned businessman have the courage to go for it.
Look for A Wing & A Prayer by Andrea Laurence, along with two more free ebooks inspired by real-life heroines: A Place in Her Heart by Trish Milburn and Never Too Late by Christi Barth. Visit the Harlequin More Than Words website at www.harlequinmorethanwords.com, or your favorite ebook retailer, to download these free novellas today.

My Thoughts:

Honestly, I thought A Wing & A Prayer as a sweet and all round good story. You have Jo, a mother, who is trying her best to take of her son, even when it's not the easiest thing to do. You have Dylan, who has taken time of his busy schedule to fly Jo and her son to Baltimore for medical treatment. It's just a feel good story about hope and kindness. Of course there is a little romance that buds between Dylan and Jo, it does hit a little bump. However, by the end you have that happy ending that gives you the warm and fuzzy feeling. Plus, it's a quick free read.

Sweet Cowboy Christmas by Candis Terry (Review)

Early this week I spotlighted Sweet Cowboy Christmas by Candis Terry. However, I didn't get my review up on Tasty Book Tours Spotlight + Giveaway + Exclusive Twelve Days of Sweet Giveaway: Sweet Cowboy Christmas by Candis Terry. Things happen, but you can still enter the giveaway if you like. Anyway, back to the purpose of the post and that is my thoughts.

This is my first time reading Candis Terry's writing, even though I have a few of her books. (Yes, I have no control when it comes to sales on books). Anyway, I like novella's cause they give you a taste of an author to see if you would be willing to continue on. I happen to like Sweet Cowboy Christmas, because it was a cute sweet read.

The Prince Who Loved Me by Karen Hawkins (Review)

I have finally finished The Prince Who Loved Me by Karen Hawkins. I know that it has taken me a while to finish this book and I tried to figure out why I was having trouble getting into this book, because I enjoyed the writing. It basically boils down to the fact it's a Cinderella troupe. I have come to the realization, Cinderella troupe's are not my favorite. They tend to make me anxious. I know it's silly cause Cinderella gets her man in the end, but it's getting there. Of course, every Cinderella has a stepmother and stepsisters and they usually are wicked. However, in Karen's The Prince Who Loved Me Sorcha and Mari are actually kind and sweet to Bronwyn.  Even the stepmother isn't so bad, but at times you wonder if she's actually a wicked one. Then you throw in the twist of the Alexsey's grandmother the Grand Duchess Natasha.

When I started the prologue, I was like what! Which made me read the book blurb. Anyway, I guess I should could get to me thoughts.

One Good Earl Deserves a Lover by Sarah MacLean

I do love Sarah MacLean books, but when One Good Earl Deserves a Lover came out I was kind of leery to start reading, because of all the mix reviews on it. I didn't read the reviews, but just heard about them. So, I just wasn't ready to read One Good Earl Deserves a Lover, and just decided to put it off. Now I have put it off long enough and decided to crack it open.

So, we have Pippa who has been:
Being labeled the strangest Marbury from such a young age allowed for one to develop something of a thick skin. It took much more than snickers from behind fans to rouse Pippa's embarrassment.
Yes, she is odd, but I can't put my finger on why I think she's odd and different. It's more than her bluestocking tendency, because it's extreme and to the point that she doesn't realize the things around her. She went about getting married logically and cause Castleton asked her. However, as the date drew closer she wanted answer that no one would give her, so she decided to approach Cross who she has logically thought out to be the best solution. I adore Cross, he thought her utterly mad when she approached him on her ludicrous idea. Yet, Pippa is one determine person when she wants answers. I love that she drove Cross batty with finding loopholes to their agreement, which forces Cross to cave.
