Book Description:
Beau Montgomery is not the typical single dad for three reasons:

1.      He’s rich and famous.

2.      He needs a nanny, like yesterday.

3.      He has no idea if eight month old, Mia, is actually his daughter.

Only, number three doesn’t matter to him at all, because he’s determined to give up everything to be a standup dad, including racing, partying, and his very favorite vice, women. Until that is, he’s invited to race at Monaco—a dream he’s always had. Now, all those things he’d sworn to give up are at his fingertips, including the very inconveniently hot nanny, Landry Basnight, who’s travelling with him.

Landry Basnight is the typical college graduate for three reasons:

1.      She’s broke and in debt up to her eyeballs.

2.      She needs a job, like yesterday.

3.      Nothing exciting ever happens in her life.

Only, number three is about to change, because she’s been hired by Beau Montgomery, son of NASCAR Racing Royalty. Landry’s parents are big fans of the Montgomerys, while she couldn’t care less—all she wants to do is make a dent in her student loan bill. However, that doesn’t stop her from falling in love with her little charge, nor does it make it easier to resist Beau’s charms.  In fact , she doesn’t resist at all.

Lines are crossed and then forgotten as Beau and Landry grow closer, but when Beau’s ex-girlfriend, the woman he’s loved since high school, and Mia’s mother shows up, everything starts to fall apart for the new couple.

Will their love weather the storm, or will Beau abandon Landry for the family he’s always wanted?

My Thoughts:

Wow! I love Marquita's books and her new adult books usually hit an emotional punch to the gut. Yes, Burn for You does have a strong emotional story. However, the level kind threw me off. Maybe threw me off is the wrong phrase, but more like surprised me. Before I even got my greedy little hands on this book, I actually thought Beau would do something extremely stupid. Honestly, I was waiting for it to happen, but the story wasn't what I expect. Marquita seem to take a different turn, and it seemed bring more than what I was expecting.

When you read Burn for You, you need to keep in mind a few of the characters cause they play a pretty big role in the story. Yes, you have Beau and Landry and there relationship. Beau tries hard to keep in within the bounds of employee and employer, but he just can't seem to keep himself away from Landry. You have Beau and Paisley tumultuous past relationship, of course it effects Beau's current relationship. We can't forget the strained relationship between his father and the surprise that laid ahead.

Burn for You presented many facets that I would never expected. The ending was complete surprise. I love how she was able to tie the past and slowly unravel to bring peace to everyone. With that said, I absolutely loved Beau. You get a glimpse of him in the past books and you got to see that there was more than the playboy racier. However, his character really blossom. I think with help of Landry he was able to open up more and become something he could be proud. Landry is an unique character, because she recognized that they needed to work things out. She somehow was able to help Beau to reconcile with the past. Overall, I'm pleased with how Burn for You turned out. I love how she took the story and somehow made it blossom into something I would never expected.

Favorite Quote:
'"I want a love that makes me burn and melt and gives me every gooey feeling in the world. I want a morning kisses and late-night talk kind of love. I want a eat dessert naked in bed kind of love." I take a deep breath. "I want a man who chooses to love me --in good times and bad, because I'm going to chose to love him right back. We won't be perfect, nothing's perfect but it would be my kind of perfect love."'
