Vampire Games by Tiffany Allee
Otherworlder Enforcement Agency #4

She’s seen the past…

OWEA Agent Beatrice Davis is haunted by the death visions that help her solve crimes. When Detective Claude Desmairis, her vampire ex-lover, asks for her assistance on a case, she’d rather help him than take the mandated leave to stave off her burn-out.

The truth won’t stay buried…

Pressed to solve a series of crimes before the perpetrator blows the vampire world apart, Claude turns to a woman he thought he’d been able to leave behind. But he was wrong, and his feelings for her will only bring trouble in an investigation this dangerous. As their passions reignite, they see a possible future together. Until her visions show her the face of the murderer—a man Claude can never betray.

Ghosts of Kingston Cottage by Libby Bishop

She believes in ghosts.

Medium and paranormal investigator Arabella Pierce is sent with her crew to Kingston Cottage, a haunted Maine seafarer’s cottage on an isolated island, but for this investigation, her boss has stuck them with skeptical reporter Lucas Brown. Though he’s hot as they come, Arabella can’t trust a man whose sole job is to discredit her and the work she does. Not after what happened with the last few skeptics...

He believes in evidence.

But Lucas isn’t as skeptical as he seems—he wants the truth, no matter what that is. When the ghosts appear, he and Arabella must work together—in tight quarters—to convince the resident ghosts to move on before a storm strands the entire crew on the island. If Arabella can put aside her prejudices, she and Lucas just might have a shot at a lifetime.

Ghost of the Falls by Sarah Gilman

Determined to prove she’s fit for the family business, exorcist Jade Clarence knows the assignment waiting in Maine is her last chance. Born into a family of exorcists, Jade’s unorthodox ideas have gotten her into trouble in the past...and cost the life of a client.

After haunting a Maine state park for more than a century, Dutch Hutchinson will do whatever it takes to bring an end to his unfulfilling existence. When an act of arson brings a beautiful exorcist to town, Dutch takes corporeal form in order to spend his last hours in her company.

Jade quickly uncovers Dutch’s true identity and finds herself falling for the man behind the spirit. But when Jade’s legacy threatens their future, they will have to overcome the greatest of odds—life and death.

Less Than Perfect by Kelly Jensen

Mikayla’s read every book in her collection of post-apocalyptic novels at least twice. She thinks she’s prepared for aliens taking over Earth. She’s not.

Nor is she prepared for the attention of a good-looking refugee named Reg.

All Mikayla and Reg want is a safe place to see out the end of the world, hidden away from the aliens that call themselves The People, but cities of the depopulated United States not infested with The People are rife with gangs, the detritus of civilization and disease.

On a mission to restock their supplies, Mikayla and Reg are captured by The People and prepared for the procedure that will make them perfect, but no longer quite human. In order to escape, they need to rely on each other…if Mikayla can trust a man who seems too good to be true.

That's Right I read Zombie Novella's

You are reading the post title correct, I did read not one, but two zombie romance novellas. I know what you are all thinking: NO WAY, she doesn't like zombies. Which you would be correct on that assumption. However, I kind of wanted to read them. I must have a fever or something. Anyway, I bring you two different zombie romance. So, here are the titles that I did read: One Thousand and One Nights by Ruth Browne and Wish Upon a Star by Michelle McLean. So, let's get started on my thoughts of these zombie novellas.

All right. I'm not sure how I really feel about One Thousand and One Nights. I liked the story, but just didn't love it. I kind understand why Alesky doesn't fully trust Sheri, after all she was bitten by a zombie. The fear of her turning against the compound is high. Yet, she doesn't and is forced to live as a prisoner. Yes, I know that it's a zombie romance, but it's a romance and it should have a happier ending. However, the ending did leave me kind of like "huh". The story is written well and book blurb did intrigue me. In the long run kind of left me hanging at the end.

Rating:

Now Wish Upon a Star I did really like. I don't normally go for reunited lovers, but hey this story worked for me. Ceri McKinley always dreamed her ex-fiancĂ©, Jason Crickett, would always return. Even though he broke her heart by dumping her right before their wedding. Jason needs a favor and Ceri is the only one to really help him. So, they go talk to Ceri crazy ex-husband to see if he would give Jason and his father his brother so they can give him a proper burial. Little did they know that they would be walking into the unexpected.

I'm not kidding, Ceri's ex-husband is crazy. I'm surprise they are able to come out alive out of the zombie invasion. Yes, this zombie romance did have a happier ending and I am a sap for happy endings.

Rating:

Here you go, two different zombie romance. So, if you are looking for zombie reads for Halloween, you can take a look at these two.

Risky Surrender by Robin Bielman

Let's get one thing straight, when I started Risky Surrender I didn't really know what the story was about. I kind of glanced at the book blurb, but I didn't really paid attention to the blurb. However, I saw that it was written by Robin Bielman, and I have loved the stories I have read. I figure I couldn't go wrong. Which I was correct.

In Risky Surrender, Robin brings us a story about a young archeologist by the name of Lucy Davenport. Lucy is after one particular artifact that will help her lay to rest the guilt she feels for losing her father and husband. Darn those past demons, they will always get you. While trying to find this particular artifact she runs into Keats McCall. The funny thing is the artifact she needs is an area where he's trying to preserve. Oh great, sounds like things will be getting a bit complicated.

I actually thought Risky Surrender was a delightful read. Basically, you have a nice story line that isn't too complicated and works well to give you a satisfying ending. Sometimes novellas can be little rush to get to the happy ending, but Robin manages not rush the story. Honestly, it has a nice pace. Lucy and Keats are great together. One thing Lucy isn't fawning over Keats, because he's rich and handsome. Instead she's trying to go under his radar. Yet, Keats isn't going to have that. Actually he wants to help Lucy, but she just needs to be forth coming in whats going on in her life. They do have a great dynamic together.

Overall, an enjoyable novella. So, if you are looking for a quick read that isn't too rushed, you might want read Risky Surrender.

Take Me by Diane Alberts

Let's get one thing straight, the events that happen in Take Me are highly (strongly urge the highly) unlikely to happen in real life. Which is all right, because it's a work of fiction. However, it takes place in Vegas, and let's be honest no one really no one knows what really goes on there. Anyway, we have the fourth story in Diane Alberts' Take a Chance series. This time we are focusing our attention on Mike Worth.

Well, Mike would be a player, man-whore, or whatever name you would like to give him. Commitment wouldn't be a word associated with his character when it comes to women. However, after one drunken night he finds himself leg-shackled to Morgan Collins.

Morgan has no desire to be married. After all she's married to her dream and no man would understand that. However, she has no clue why she would end up married to Mike. Especially, when they both agree that marriage would be the worst thing in life.

All right, I liked the story, but didn't love it. I didn't really have an issue with Mike, because he's just the way he is. There's not much for a player, but I do hold a soft for them (only in stories and not in really life). Honestly, I was surprise with the change in him; I mean he didn't really fight what he was starting to feel for Morgan. Actually, he really wanted to see where all of it would end. My problem actually laid with Morgan. She really drove me nuts. Here we have Mike willing to take a chance, and that's a huge deal, because he doesn't believe in love. When he puts his heart on the line, Morgan basically crushes his heart. I think would have been easier if she took out his heart (like Indiana Jones Temple of Doom take out heart) and stomp on it. Morgan was so focus on believing she couldn't have it all (the career and loving husband), so better to live with one thing and not the other. So, it took a lot of guts for her a take a chance.

The bottom line is: I liked Take Me, but just didn't win me over to love. However, it was still a good read, but Morgan drove me nuts. So, if you are looking for a quick with a drunken wedding, you might want to checkout Take Me.
