Demon Undamned by Andris Bear (Review)

Well, this lovely selection has been waiting for me patiently to read him. Who am I kidding Chamos (the anti-hero) hasn't been waiting for me patiently. Would you believe me that he has been giving me the stink-eye since August? The nerve  of some characters. Anyway, this is the fifth story in Andris Bear's Deadly Sins books. If you had read the first book Angel Unborn you would have remember meeting Chamos. If you haven't let me introduce him.

Angel Unleashed by Andris Bear

All right last I finished Andris Bear's latest release from her Deadly Sins Novel which happens to be Angel Unleashed. Have you ever read a story that consumes so much that you find yourself dreaming yourself into the story. Yep, this would be my case. Honestly, this has happen only a couple of times. Now you are wondering what my thoughts are about this story since I have been dreaming myself into the story. Here we go:

Detective Jacob Ryder has survived death and is on a special mission. Yet, he has no clue what he's up against or what his special mission. Plus, he is so lucky to get stuck with an angel who is unhappy with her current assignment, which is to keep him alive to fulfill his mission.

Jake cracks me up. Not in the funny way, more like oh my gosh I totally didn't see that coming. When you first start the story Jake is more brooding hero type. However when he's around Liadin (the angel), she tends to bring out his naughty side. Here are a few examples:

"Don't let this pretty face fool you. I can be ridden all night and not wear out."

or

"Yeah. Like sour-patch candies. The first taste makes you pucker, but then you hit the sweet spot and can't stop licking all that sugary goodness off your fingers."

Bad, bad, bad boy. Not only that he's modest too:

"Yep. I'm brawn, charm, and brains. You're lucky to have me."

 Then you have Liadin, who isn't a guardian angel, but more  archangel. However, she has been given an assignment to watch over Jake. As she gets to know Jake she starts, she has a hard time separating being an angel and possible feelings for him.

I really liked the story. We continue to have the battle of good verses evil and how we are one step closer to the final battle. I love the relationship between Jake and Liadin. Boy they get into hot and heavy. Other than that you truly see witty, charming and sarcastic at it's finest in Angel Unleashed. So, you love angels and a hot bad detective you might want to get yourself a copy of Angel Unleashed.

Let me leave you with my all time favorite line:

“Don’t think of it as an order, more like a mandatory suggestion.”

Angel Redeemed by Andris Bear

If you all remember back in October I read Angel Unborn and really enjoyed this book. So, Andris Bear brings to us a little novella to let us know what happen to Ursus while his spirit was not attach to his body. If you haven't read Angel Unborn you might want to read that before jumping into this novella.

With that said, I actually enjoyed this quick little read. You get to see how fierce Ursus can be, even when he's a little ball of energy. Trust me he's trouble when he's that little ball of energy. A fierce angel that comes back to the girl he loves. What's not to love. So, if you have read Angel Unborn and wonder what happen during the time Ursus was separated from Joey then I suggest you checkout this quick read. Trust me it's quick and fun. Angel Unborn by Andris Bear

It's always exciting to get asked to read a friend's book, and at the same time nerve racking. However, I'm excited to share what I read. Trust me this person is talented and the story is amazing. So, let me share with you a little bit of Angel Unborn by Andris Bear and what I thought of it.

Joey Benton would like nothing more than to be normal, but that's just not in the cards for her. For one thing, she see some pretty scary creatures that might have crawled out hell. Sucks no one else can see them, which makes her look odd to others. Until one day, some TDY (Tall, Dark, and Yummy) by the name Ursus drops into her life, and basically tells her he's there to protect her.

You are wondering what she would need protection from? Demons. Yep, I said demons. You know that would a be pretty big bombshell to drop, but that's not all. However, I can't tell you more, because that would just ruin the story.

Plus, I think this story was pretty darn good. I happen to started it yesterday and I couldn't put it down. And who could with witty one liners and the dialog between Ursus and Joey, truly had me cracking up while reading it. Trust me I got some funny looks at the gym while reading Angel Unborn. I really like the take of Heaven verse Hell. I think that was pretty cool and different. I'm really looking forward to reading more and seeing how it all plays out in the end.

So, if you are looking for a lickalicious unbending hero and a special snarky heroine,  you have found it in Angel Unborn. Come on you really want to see angels and demons fighting over who gets to control the Earth. Other than that I leave you today and I hope you are having fun in whatever you are reading.
