The last thing Brett Ross wants is to be back in the same old damn small town he grew up in, but his best friend is getting married, so there’s no way he’s skipping yet another visit back home. He knows what he’s getting into, coming back here, but the one thing he didn’t count on was the way Anna Hamilton made him feel the first time he sets eyes on her…and she’s all grown up.

Anna’s always been in love with Brett, even if she’s always been his best friend’s annoying little sister to him. But when he looks at her, she doesn’t see annoyance in his eyes anymore. If anything, she sees a silent calling for her to save him from himself…and she’s just the girl to do it. All she needs is to find a way to escape her pesky, protective older brothers.

The Billionaire's Christmas Proposal by Victoria James (Review)

I was giving a chance to read The Billionaire's Christmas Proposal, which featured Allison Barrington (Allie) and Ethan Dane. If you guys have read The Billionaire's Christmas Baby you would remember that Ethan and Allie were best friends to Jack and Hannah. If you haven't you will survive, and you can always go back and see where Allie and Ethan first met.

Allie, is an internal optimist even after her world starts to crumble she still hopes for the best. Lets outline what is going wrong in her life before we continue: 1) Her building is pretty much burned down. 2) Her job is in jeopardy, because the landlord would like to sell the property. 3) Her mother is a piece of crap (that's being nice). 4) If it couldn't get any worse it happens during the Christmas season. Now a pessimist or a realist would be like well life just sucks or could things get any worst, not Allie. Fortunately, Allie has a good friend who takes her and her sister into his home. Oh yeah, she's taking care of her 16 year old sister (refer to three).

Now Ethan has been crushing on Allie since Jack and Hannah's wedding. The guy has asked Allie out like three times already, but he still holding out hope. Now that Allie needs his help, he sees his golden opportunity. However, there is a catch. He might be the cause of her losing her job, because he has been give a lucrative opportunity to get into the good graces of his father. Yay for getting back in his father good graces, ooh might lose the girl. Ethan has to make a choice and it's not an easy one, so he's trying to figure out a way to do both.

Love The Billionaire's Christmas Proposal, because we have two people who are highly attracted to one another. Yet, Allie is too afraid to go out of with Ethan, because important people in her life let her down. We don't find this out until we started to breakdown the characters. At the same time, Ethan is afraid to truly let people in due to health issues. Again, we don't find this out until we get to know each of the characters. A lot of the fun moments actually come from the interaction of Allie's snarky teenage sister. Actually, she puts things into perspective for Allie and Ethan, but you don't realize this. Overall, The Billionaire's Christmas Proposal is a great holiday read, because it helps us to remember what the holidays are truly meant to be.

Blog Tour + Review + Giveaway: Betting the Billionaire by Avery Flynn

Book Blurb:

If that man calls her one more time…

So what if Gabe Campos is a model-dating billionaire who gets Keisha Jacobs hotter than a Ferrari’s engine on the straightaway? He keeps pushing her to sell her family’s furniture business, but she’ll never give in—not unless she wants to give her father a second heart attack.

All Gabe should be thinking about is how he’ll finally get revenge on the man who killed his father. But when he meets the man’s daughter, Keisha, instead of focusing on destroying Jacobs Fine Furnishings, he can’t get her warm-whisky voice out of his mind.

Forced by a snow storm to spend the night together, their passion ignites. The next day, however, it’s back to business. The only way Keisha can save her family is to win a bet with the billionaire. But neither realized their hearts are part of the bargain…

My Thoughts:

You know how sometimes a novella has you aching for more and other times it was nice quick read. Well, Betting the Billionaire is the latter. Don't get me wrong it wasn't a bad read and the writing was good. However, I just didn't connect with the characters. I happen to enjoy a revenge plot. However, I just didn't feel like there was enough bitterness for a revenge plot. A lot of the story stems from not knowing all the facts. I like Keisha and loyalty to her family. Gabe, well he just didn't really do anything for me. Overall, Betting the Billionaire wasn't a bad read, just didn't grab me.

She fell in love with romance while reading Johanna Lindsey’s Mallory books. It wasn’t long before Avery had read through all the romance offerings at her local library. Needing a romance fix, she turned to Harlequin’s four books a month home delivery service to ease the withdrawal symptoms. That worked for a short time, but it wasn’t long before the local book stores’ staffs knew her by name.

Avery was a reader before she was a writer and hopes to always be both. The Billionaire's Demands by Addison Fox

Last night I finished The Billionaire's Demands by Addison Fox. This is the third book in Boardrooms and Billionaires books. In this particular series the focus was on three sisters. Now we are focusing our attention on the middle sister Camryn McBride.

Camryn is the CFO of McBride Media. She basically eats, sleeps, and breaths financial reports. So much so that she uses them as her shields against real relationships other than her sisters. Now Camryn gets a chance to be the keynote speaker at a sales conference Hawaii. Woo-Hoo.

Now Booth Harrison has sort of wanted to get with Camryn, but Camryn has use the convenient excuse that she doesn't want to make things awkward between their families. After all, Booth's half-brother is married to Camryn's sister. However, Booth is up to the challenge.

The first part of the story went a little too smoothly. However, we have to have a little bump in the road otherwise it would be dull. I happy to find the bump in Hawaii. Anyway, basically likes to keep guys at arms length, because she was hurt in the past by a guy who "loved" her. Of course she tried again and that didn't bode well either, so she turned to her safety and security to reports. Yep, like they are going to keep you warm at night. Somehow, Booth slowly started to chip away her wall. It takes a lot for her to slowly trust Booth and be willing to get a little dirty.

The Billionaire's Demands was pretty good and did get much better towards the end. I do like an emotional ending. Plus, I love how Camryn tried to show Booth that she was willing to take on the mess of life. So, if this something your looking for, give The Billionaire's Demands a try.

The Billionaire’s Demands by Addison Fox

Booth Harrison has made a habit of getting what he wants, be it a new addition to the Harrison media empire, or a better relationship with his half-brother.  But meeting his brother’s new sister-in-law, Camryn McBride, poses a new challenge.  The savvy CFO of McBride Media has a brain he wants to pick…and a body he needs to claim.

Camyrn has spent the past few years helping to rebuild her family’s magazine company, focusing on that rather than her disastrous personal life.  But when Booth Harrison invites her to be the keynote speaker at a sales conference in Hawaii, she’s tempted to combine business with pleasure.

But meeting the billionaire’s demands won’t be easy, because someone doesn’t want a merger between them to happen.

About Addison Fox

An avid reader, her love of the written word started at the tender age of one with The Owl and the Pussycat by Edward Lear (a poem she could recite by heart to any family member who would listen.) Dr. Seuss, C.S. Lewis, Judy Blume and a host of others quickly followed until she discovered THE CLAN OF THE CAVE BEAR by Jean M. Auel while writing a paper at the library in the seventh grade. Sweet Southern Betrayal by Robin Covington

So, I got a chance to read Robin Covington latest book Sweet Southern Betrayal. I must say that I really enjoyed this book and I loved the chemistry between Risa and Teague. Talk about opposites.

You have Risa Clay who is a Vegas showgirl who has a side business of selling "sensual marital aids and exclusive nightwear for couples"(fancy way of saying sex toys and lingerie).  She grew up waiting for the rug getting pulled from underneath her or waiting for the other show to drop.

Then you have Teague Elliot who grew up not knowing what it was like to grow up on the wrong side of the tracks. He's had a privilege life and has used to his full advantage. Plus, he's one of those guys who has his life planned out to the minute. All his blocks are lined up perfectly.

However, all that changes when his life gets turned upside down by Risa. Now Risa made a deal with the devil and now she is dealing with the fallout and trying to fix what she has done to Teague.

Sweet Southern Betrayal happens to be an awesome read. I mean you have this heat between Risa and Teague, but at the same time they are just buying their time till they fix the issue at hand. However, things start to change between these two. Risa is more than willing to let thing go with the flow while Teague is a bit stubborn. Teague is just so focus on his goal that he doesn't see what he has until it's almost too late. Overall, this was a fun read, because you have two people that couldn't be anymore opposite than Teague and Risa. So, if you are looking for a sassy heroine that could drive a stick in the mud crazy, you might have winner with Sweet Southern Betrayal.

Reforming the Playboy by Inara Scott

Let me just say, that I have never been let down by a Inara Scott book. I love her writing and she's pretty amazing writer. With that said let me share her latest jewel of a story, Reforming the Playboy. First off, I'm not a fan of second chance love stories. However, Reforming the Playboy had me laughing, crying, and going WOW. Anyway, let take a visit to Passion Creek.

When Kira Butler was a student at RISD (Rhode Island School of Design), she fell in love with Max Estin. However, she was afraid to give him the full truth, so instead she left the cowards way and headed back to Passion Creek. Five years later, she needs to see Max, because Aunt Polly knew they had unfinished business. Man the power people have beyond the grave. Don't worry there is no ghost, just a smart lady who decided take matters into her own hands before she died. Anyway. Max decides to take his revenge on Kira for leaving him all those years ago by trying to seducing her and leaving her after he has succeeded. Yeah, sounds like a great guy.

What makes this a great story? Actually the vulnerabilities of both characters. Kira has trust issues that stem from abandonment issues. Funny how those go hand in hand. While Max is trying to escape from his poor past. So, they both have to work on their issues, and workout the past. I truly loved Reforming the Playboy, because you this couple who are right for each other, but have a hard time letting go of the past. Then you have the town who is looking out for Kira, because they love her so much. Probably a little too much, but hey that's the life of a small town.

Seriously, Reforming the Playboy is a great read as I said. It's one of those stories I want to shout out and say "BUY IT". Or have the urge to give the whole story away, because I can't keep it in. So, if you are looking for a small town story that will wow you, you might want to give Reforming the Playboy a go.

Talking Dirty with the Boss by Jackie Ashenden

Yesterday, I finished Talking Dirty with the Boss by Jackie Ashenden. All right I have been waiting sometime for this story, because I have enjoyed the other books. I have to say that I did like the story.

Like Joseph, Luke McNamara has a bit of quirk. He isn't your typical hero. No, he suffers from OCD, but he doesn't want anyone to know that he suffers from it. I guess when he was younger he was shamed into thinking it was bad. So, he figure the best way is to hide it from everyone. Trying to hide his condition, he became a serial dater, which gave the image he was a player.

Now Marisa Clair does come off flighty and a bimbo at times. However, I thinks she's a bit clever for her own good, because she knows what guys tend to look at when they see a pretty blond with great assets. Yet, this combination gets her in a bit of trouble, and she has a hard time learning her lessons. You know some people are like that.

Basically, Luke and Marisa have this instant chemistry, since Luke has OCD and needs to follow order this is a bad idea. However, somehow he overcomes it and they have crazy heat between them. In a way to cope with the situation, Luke figures that it would be best to keep their relationship a secret. This makes Marisa feel like a dirty little secret, and it has to do with a past relationship (go figure).

All right, I have to say it's kind of unique to find an author who's willing to take a chance on a hero and not make him like every other hero. I think that makes the Talking Dirty books interesting, because it's not your same old stuff. Some people may have a hard time with it. Honestly, it makes these stories standout more. So, yes, I did like Luke's quirkiness. I think him and Marisa are one hot couple. So, if you are looking for a book without a typical hero, you might like Talking Dirty with the Boss.

Falling for Mr. Wrong by Inara Scott

So, I have read every book that has been written so far about the Bencher family. The impress I have gotten from the other books was Ross was a really young sibling. Well, my little bubble was burst when I found out that he was about a year younger than Britt.  Anyway, today I bring you the third installment of the Bencher family, Falling for Mr. Wrong by Inara Scott. I must say that have enjoyed each and every book. I believe there is one more sibling, but I could be wrong. Back to my purpose.

If you have read any of the previous books you would remember Ross had a pretty rocky marriage that eventually ended. After his disastrous marriage he decided that he needed to find a woman that would be the epitome of Donna Reed. For those who don't know who Donna Reed is, well she was a 1950s TV mom that did everything that a wife should do. Ross didn't want to find an impulsive adventure seeker for his next wife. Of course the woman Ross finds is the complete opposite of what he is looking for, meet Kelsey Hanson. Kelsey is basically lives like a nomad. She doesn't form attachments very well and she tends to look for an excuse to bail. Part of the reason is her father.

As I have said, I have enjoyed all the Bencher books. If you have read the previous books Ross was kind of portrayed as a playboy. However, that's not really possible, because most playboys tend to focus on themselves while Ross tends to focus more on his children and even his ex-wife. Yes, his ex-wife is still in the picture, but more like his best friend. I know weird, but it works for them. So, that really endeared me to really like Ross. He had was gooding looking and kind, but had that "Oh I can be bad" edge about him. That could have been his confidence that oozed off him.

Now Kelsey. I'm not going to lie, I wanted to choke her. Seriously, she drove me nuts with "oh I'm not good with kids" or "I never really wanted to be married or have a family". I guess you tell yourself something like that enough, you start to believe it. However, Kelsey's problem was her father and her lack ability to standup for herself when she was around him. Kelsey is a strong independent woman, but when it came to father she became all pathetic. That's part of the reason she drove me nuts. She almost missed out on a great thing in her life by not finding her backbone.

Overall, I really did love the story. Yes, Kelsey drove me nuts, but Ross and his kids really won me over. I love how Ross was more than the playboy guy and how he really grew into a great guy. Both of them are bit stubborn and set in their own ways. Yes, they struggle to compromise, but somehow made it work. Kelsey had to learn to be herself, while Ross had to let go of his preconceive ideas of a proper wife after a divorce. So, if you are looking for a good story with two stubborn people, you might want to give Falling for Mr. Wrong try.

The Cinderella Seduction by Hope Tarr

So this is the third book in Hope Tarr's Suddenly Cinderella series. I have been impress with each of the story, because each of the heroines has been a Cinderella. However, I think Stefanie Stefanopoulos is probably the closest to Cinderella in The Cinderella Seduction

I love Stefanie, because she's like the epitome of all women. I mean she feels inferior compared to her stepmother and stepsisters who happen to be petite. Yet, her father tasks her with the responsibility of distracting Nikolas Costas while in the area. Of course, she wonders why her father would choose her while there are other choices. As she gets to know Nick, she doesn't understand what he sees in her. I mean he's been known to be many beautiful woman in the past.

Stefanie has big heart and is loyal to her friends and family. She wants everything to workout in the end. Of course our Cinderella has a couple of roadblocks that would like her to stay in the shadows of her stepsisters.

Like most Cinderella stories, I found myself crying. Yes, it has a happy ending, but getting there is always so rough. Nick and Stefanie were almost sabotage by her stepmother who was selfish and self-serving. However, the luck of some magic shows it was able to work itself out. I hope there is more to come, because I really have enjoyed the Suddenly Cinderella stories. I have been impress on how Hope Tarr has puts a modern twist on an old fairytale. So, if you like Cinderella stories, I would suggest checking out The Cinderella Seduction or the other books in the series.

Seducing the Enemy by Noelle Adams

I pretty much just finished Seducing the Enemy by Noelle Adams. All right the first thing that caught my eye was the title. Anytime you throw in a form of seduce and enemy it becomes a must read. Main reason, I have to know why they are using the word seducing and enemy in the same phrase.

Quick background: The Edwards and Damon have been in disagreement on what happen about 15 years ago. Think of it as a modern day Hatfield and McCoy situation. Anyway, the night before the negotiations Marietta and Harrison had relations. Neither one of them knew that were embroil in a situation until they met the next morning and things turned a bit ugly. Hurtful things were said and negotiations were off the table before they really started.

I thought Seducing the Enemy was pretty amazing. In the story we find Marietta trying to fix the situation and move on in her life. However, she feels the best way is talk to the Uncle face to face. Yet she gets stonedwalled by Harrison, because he believes nothing a gold-digger. It's not Harrison's fault that he can't trust women. I mean in his experience he was hungout to dry by the last woman, so can't really blame the guy for being cautions. On the same token, treating every woman like they are all conniving deceitful evil people when not every woman is a bit harsh. Yet, experience will dictate how you will handle situations.

Basically you have a young woman who went against the odds to become whole again doing battle against a bitter man who believes woman are nothing but gold-diggers. I love how we have enemies that slowly become friends that could be possibly be lovers. However, the past still lingers and might cause disharmony.

I found myself not wanting to put down Seducing the Enemy. Overall, I found the story captivating and intriguing. Who doesn't love a stubborn man? Maybe not in real life, but in a book all right. So, if you are looking for an amazing read, you might want to try Seducing the Enemy.
