Covert Games by Katie Reus (Review)

Let me state I did like Covert Games, but I wasn't in love with the story. Covert Games, to me seem like it had a slow start. I know I'm one of the few that feels this way, but I did. I also had a hard time with Leighton and Lucy. I didn't feel them. Hey that happens. I struggle with most of the story, it wasn't until the end that I started to feel a connection. The action did pick up towards the ending that was pretty good. A massive crap storm hits which made story for me.

Anyway, Covert Games wasn't a favorite for me. It worked for others. I would recommend reading the other stories in the series, before jumping into this one. They connect a lot to each other. Like I said others loved this story, and I'm ready to move on to the next story in the series. Katie is a pretty good writer, so I won't let this one stop me.

Take Me Again by Carly Phillips (Review)

Early this week I read Take Me Again by Carly Phillips, and I have to say this was probably the best read so far this year. We have Sebastian Knight who is the ultimate playboy, and Ashley Easton who is immune from his charms. She was burn when she was younger and doesn't want to get burned again. The ultimate playboy has to work extra hard to proving to her that he's more than a playboy. However, there's more to the story, because we are starting a new series. We find secrets reveal and things that shouldn't have happen happened.

Carly builds a pretty good plot in the story along with a romance rekindle between Sebastian and Ashley. The story helps to build to next story. Yes, we do get to see Sebastian and Ashley building something of a permanent relationship, but we also get subplot. Overall, I was pleased with this story. Yes, we have some hot steamy things happen between Ashley and Sebastian, but we also see them working together. I can't wait to read more from this series. Definitely a strong start to the new series. So, you need a hot read with a strong storyline, Take Me Again won't disappoint.

Blurb

If you’re planning on falling in love…

When it comes to the confident, charismatic Caleb Parker, Sadie Lane feels the spark—the kind that comes from rubbing each other the wrong way. She’s yoga pants, he’s a suit. She’s a tattoo artist, he’s a straight-laced mogul. But after they accidentally co-rescue an abandoned dog from a storm, Sadie sees a vulnerable side to the seemingly invincible hottie.

You’d better be sure…

Caleb doesn’t do emotions. Growing up the underdog, he’s learned the hard way to build up an impenetrable wall. Perfect for business. Disastrous for relationships. He’s never worried about it before—not until he finally gets behind Sadie’s armor and begins to fall.

Someone is there to catch you.

Both guarded and vulnerable, Sadie and Caleb are complete opposites. Or are they? Shocked at their undeniable connection, can they ever admit to wanting more? That all depends on what they’re each willing to risk.

Over-forty, single mom Tess Howland's life is all about caring for other people. Indulging in a one night stand is just what she needs. She doesn't expect to meet anyone she would introduce to her kids, especially not some rich playboy who acts like a big kid himself. Even if he keeps giving her the best sex of her life.

Millionaire Miles Prescott can't get the sexy nurse he met at a fundraising gala out of his head. For the first time ever, he doesn't want a woman with no-strings-attached. He wants everything—even it comes with a ready-made family with a woman in her forties. Suddenly, helping with homework doesn't sound like the worst thing in the world, especially if it means being near Tess.

But what happens when he’s ready to step up and she says no?

How to Seduce a Bad Boy by Traci Douglass (Review)

I was able to finished How to Seduce a Bad Boy by Traci Douglas. Well, this story was an adorable read. We have Melody Bryant who has been in love with her brother's best friend forever. However, Adam Foster is going to look after his best friend's little sister. Basically, Melody sets out to try to catch her Adam's attention with a makeover. Which works and so the story begins.

Of course, that's the over simplification of How to Seduce a Bad Boy. The first half is kind of too sweet for my taste. We are lacking the no you shouldn't be hanging out with the bad boy. Yes, they grew up as friends, because Adam is best friend's with her brother. There were times I had to put the book down, because it was too sweet. However, it wasn't until we got closer to the end that I did enjoy the story. Granted more drama appear and making it worth the time. I think the whole "oh no I shouldn't be with my bro's sister" became more real when her brother comes home. So, the story does pickup when the time table comes to the end.

Overall, it's a cute read. If you like stories that have behind closed doors love scenes this is your read. If you are a fan of best friend chasing friend's sister, hey you might like this one. It's a little slow at the beginning, and does progress about halfway through the story.
