For the longest time I was afraid to read And One Last Thing... by Molly Harper, I have been reading her paranormal stuff and loved it. Seriously, LOVED her stuff. However, I was a little afraid that I wasn't going to like this story, because it didn't have vampires or werewolves. A true fear, so I kept this far from my mind. I have basically have done all the Half-Moon Hallows books, I even tried Naked Werewolves books, and I started the Mystic Bayou books. So, I was running out of options to read/listen to Molly Harper. I decided to take a chance. So, fearful on what going to happen, which I shouldn't have. I started the story and I was hooked. Seriously HOOKED! I had so much fun with And One Last Thing.... Who would have guess?
Anyway, I absolutely loved Lacey Terwillirger. At first she's kind of down trodden, and doesn't know how to pick up the pieces of her life. However, it's amazing what she can do when you are stuck in a cabin and your only neighbor is a recluse cranky man. Basically, she rebuilding her life, and rediscovers who she is in the long run. It takes some trials and errors. It was fun watching her fumble along the way. I love that she learns to live with out her cheating ex. It's fun to see her interaction with Monroe, the recluse neighbor. They are a hoot together.
Overall, I was worry for nothing with And One Last Thing..., seriously I had fun. I laugh, and tried not get choked up, because I was out in public while listening to this story. I was thinking Sammy the Shark needs her own story and a love life, I mean it would be interesting after all she's a divorce lawyer. Great time. So much so that I had to listen to the story again. Also Amanda Ronconi does a super job.

The Perfect Bargain by Jessa McAdams (Review)
Last week I was able to read The Perfect Bargain by Jessa McAdams. I personally thought it was cute story about a girl who was trying to escape her meddling friends from fixing her up with more bad dates while she recover from a broken heart. However, they couldn't let it go so they decided to follow her to Scotland. To preempt their strike she was going to have a fake boyfriend and breakup with them before they got there, but change of plans they decided to come early. Now she needs to find a fine specimen to pretend to be her boyfriend, but she's in the small town where the only guy that is even is decent is pub owner. What sane person would want to go along with this harebrained scheme? Basically, we have the bases of our romantic comedy in The Perfect Bargain. Let's meet our girl.
Sloane Chatfield. Oh boy, where do you begin with her. All right Sloane is nursing a broken heart in search of a "Jamie Fraser" of her own. The best place to do this is Scotland. So, she heads off to Scotland regroup and get away from her meddling friends. However, they decided to invite themselves along. You can't tell the meddling type to stay out of your life, because they can't. She finds herself in a pickle trying to find a pretend guy to show her friends she's doing all right. In the small village there is one guy, but he thinks she's like a loon. A pretty loon, but still a loon. Now we meet Galen Buchanan. He's the pub owner, and he's a bit financial strapped so he's willing to play along with Sloane.
In some aspects it's kind of like The Wedding Date where the Debra Messing pays a guy to go with her to the wedding, at least Galen isn't a male prostitute. He kind of is, but doesn't do professionally. Anyway, this story is cute. We have this chemistry between Sloane and Galen, but they kind of want to ignore it or believe it isn't there. Before Sloane's friends arrive they get to know each other, but every time they draw close to one another one person says something making sure the other party remembers it's a paying situation. It's like two steps forward, one step back. I actually love them together, because Galen helps Sloane loosen up. Seriously, the girl was wound up tight.
Overall, the story was cute. It's romantic comedy worthy. The Perfect Bargain has all the elements that make a romantic comedy fun. I look forward to How to Marry Highlander Stories will popup. So, if you are looking something light and fun, why not give The Perfect Bargain a try.

Shame on You by Tara Sivec
A few days ago I read Shame on You by Tara Sivec. I have to say that I found this quick read quite entertaining. This is the start to the Fool Me Once series.
We meet three friends: Kennedy O'Brien, Paige McCarty, and Lorelei Warner. They banded together to form Fool Me Once Investigation. Each of them have been burn former guys in life and decided the most productive way of handling their frustration is catch dirty scum buckets.
Anyway, the story focus more on Kennedy and how she has to work with her ex-husband friend, Griffin Crawford. She can't stand him, because she thought they were friends when she found out her husband had been cheating on her. Of course they ended making a wager to see who catches the bail jumper first.
Honestly, I found Shame on You highly entertaining. However, some people might find the humor a bit crass at times. Yet the Kennedy's family is a hoot. They seemed to be plotting against her to get her look at Griffin. Honestly, Shame on You is a silly fun read. It's not meant to be taken serious, but meant to be light and fun. So, if you don't mind a little crass humor, you might enjoy Shame on You.

Christmas Dinner by Robyn Neeley
Have you ever read a holiday book that made you laugh, cry and just felt like the perfect holiday read. Well, Robyn Neeley brings that with her latest release Christmas Dinner. In this book you will find elements that make a fun romantic comedy with moments that remind you that the magic of Christmas is still there.
Christmas Dinner is one of those stories I loved so much, that I would love to tell you everything that happens in the book. It's that amazing, but I'll focus on the things that made the story for me.
There are a few characters that you first need to know:
Amanda Turner: She hasn't been home for a couple of years. She wasn't planning to come home until she found that her ex was living with her parents with his fiancé. So, she decides to take her co-anchor home for the holidays.
Tate Ryan: The co-anchor. Plus, has a crush on Amanda from years ago. He figures that this would be a good weekend to help her see that he's more than a jerk and that he really loves her.
Brad: He's not really important, but he's the ex that dumped her on Christmas Eve two years. By the way who does that, seriously.
Then you have the rest of her family, which they are a hoot.
As I said in Amanda's description she wanted to come home to prove that she's moved on from Brad and she required the help of Tate. Tate is a willing participant, because of what happen in the past. Yet, some of Amanda's family put Tate through the ringer (which would be an overprotective brother).
Anyway, Christmas Dinner is a light fun read that will put you in the holiday spirit. Yes, some of the story will remind you of a "twisted version of a Christmas Carol". At the same time, how can you resist a story where you drag a guy to meet the family, and you can barely tolerate him? I mean that is a making for a disaster, and to top it all off you have the ex-boyfriend with his fiancé living with your family. That could be a bit awkward.
I absolutely love Christmas Dinner for it's light fun that will having you bust a gut. Then you have moments that will have you shedding a few tears. So, if you are looking for a sappy read that will have you all over with your emotions, you might want to give Christmas Dinner to give you that holiday spirit.

Cinderella Screwed Me Over by Cindi Madsen
I don't know how many of you love romantic comedy movies, but I love them. I think they are fantastic. You pretty much have a good balance when you watch a romantic comedy. You laugh, you cry and you get frustrated, but in the end you find that happy ending that makes you feel good. In Cindi Madsen's Cinderella Screwed Me Over you find the makings for a romantic comedy movie in the book.
Darby Quinn has had many disastrous relationships in her life time. So much so that she started making case files from past relationships and how the fit into the fairytale and how they fairytale doesn't really workout in real life. Yes, this could be a cynical approach to the idea of love. When you look at the cases she presents, it actually seems pretty accurate. So, it's no wonder she sworn off love and happy-ever-afters. However, there is one guy who doesn't seem to get the message, Jake Knight. Now Jake goes through a lot of hoops to get Darby to take a chance on him.
I did actually love Darby. I love the fact she had a jaded attitude on love. However, her attitude wasn't as jaded as another character in the story, which made Darby pause a couple of times to rethink her attitude. Did that make her change, not really. Plus, I found her case studies or the glimpse of her past relationship and how they shaped her view on love interesting. Like most girls she did have hope of a fairytale ending, but slowly came to realization that those aren't real. However, her attitude towards love did start to get on my nerves, but overall it stem from fear.
Now Jake deserves a medal or something for sticking by Darby through all her antics. He really stuck by her and he saw the that they could be more. I don't know how many guys would have stuck around when the girl keeps pushing away. Jake was persistent and determine and pretty amazing. I really did like the guy.
Cinderella Screwed Me Over definitely has a making for a romantic comedy movie in the book. As I was reading, I truly picture this story in my mind, especially when she did the case studies (kind of like a flashback). Here's how it has the making of a romantic comedy movie in the book: 1. You have flash backs (always make better romantic comedy). 2. Laugh out loud moments (one of the most important things in the romantic comedy). 3. Bring on the tears (you know there is always those moments) 4. The "oh no they're not going to make it" moment (yes, you know what I'm talking about, because it always happens). 5. The girl gets her happy ending. So, if you love romantic comedies, you probably have fun with Cinderella Screwed Me Over.
