Lusting for Covers: The Dark Affair by Máire Claremont (#145)

Lusting for Covers is a weekly meme, held on Sunday, that allows bloggers to share their current cover obsession with fellow book lovers.
This meme is hosted by TBQ @ TBQ's Book Palace.

Normally, I'm a red girl, so I should be lusting after Máire latest release. However, the next book is just so beautiful. I bring you my pick of the week:

The Dark Affair by Máire Claremont
Publisher: Signet Eclipse
Publishing Date: March 2014
Series: Mad Passions, 3
Genre: Historical, Victorian

The Victorian era was full of majestic beauty and scandalous secrets—a time when corsets were the least of a woman’s restrictions, and men could kill or be killed in the name of honor...

Lady Margaret Cassidy left a life of nobility behind in Ireland, forsaking her grieving homeland to aid war-ravaged men in England. Still, she never expected a cruel turn of fate to lock her into an unwanted betrothal with one of her English patients—much less one as broken and dangerous as Viscount Powers.

Wrecked by his tragic past, Powers’ opiate-addled sanity hangs precariously in the balance, leaving him poised to destroy anyone who dares to utter the names of the wife and child he still so deeply mourns. So when he is forced to marry Margaret in exchange for freedom, he is shocked by the desire to earn her trust, her body, and—most alarming of all—her heart.

Why?
It's just gorgeous. I personally love each and every Máire's covers and they seem to get better and better. I don't know what she's doing to get great covers for her books, but she needs to keep doing it. I love how her books aren't your typical romance.

So, what do you think? What are you lusting for?

  1. Oh, it is a goregous cover, love the color especially, and I'm not typically a fan of green but that's stunning! :) I haven't read any of her books yet, but I do have them on my list. Thanks for sharing!

    Enjoy,
