Beguiling the Barrister is
your newest book, why a barrister for your hero?
I needed to give him a
worthwhile, intellectual and high-profile occupation. The law seemed like a
good fit for him, especially as I could put him in the famous Old Bailey
courthouse.
Can you tell us a little bit
about Flick (Lady Felicity Forster)?
Flick has three older
brothers, Hal Forster, Marquess of Denby, Lord Robert and Lord Gabriel. They’ve
always been overly protective of their little sister, (don’t do as we do, do as
we tell you),which doesn’t prevent Flick doing precisely as she pleases! And
what pleases Flick is Darius Grantley. She decided at the age of twelve, when
he rescued her from a fall from an oak tree, that she would marry her handsome
neighbour. Just one slight hitch—now that they’re grown up, Darius seems more
interested in fighting for the cause of the poor at the Old Bailey than he does
in pursuing her.
How did she get her
nickname?
I honestly don’t know why I
called her Flick. It just seemed to fit her personality. Perhaps your readers
might have some ideas on that one.
Can you tell us about Darius
Grantley?
Darius’s father was a
charmer who almost brought ruin on his family with his gambling. Darius grew up
both loving and hating his charismatic parent, vowing never to be as
irresponsible as he was. He definitely would have nothing to do with
gambling—until Flick’s life was threatened by a rich and powerful adversary.
The only way to get the better of him was at the gaming table. Dare he?
Did he always want to be a
barrister?
He wants to do something for
the underprivileged. In those days a man could be sent to the colonies, or even
hanged, for stealing enough food for his family to survive. The accused were
considered to be guilty unless they could prove otherwise, and the odds were
heavily stacked against them. Darius has a conscience!
Do you have any projects in
the works and if you do can you share them?
The third book in the
Forsters series, Finessing the Contessa, publishes in November. That’s Lord
Robert’s story. He’s a chess master and gets more than he bargains for when he
crosses rooks with the lovely Sicilian widow, Contessa Electra Falzone.
I also write erotica under
the pen name Zara Chase and publish regularly in that genre.
What inspired you to write
romance novels?
I wrote my first book when I
was a teenager, full of romantic idealism. I guess it never completely wore
off!
Who are your favorite
authors?
Daphne duMaurier, Jane
Austen, of course, Judith McNaught, Sandra Brown.
If you had to write your own
life story, what would your title be?
Swimming Against the Tide.
(I’ve never been one of the crowd, you see. I blame my father for that).
Thanks so much for having me
here.

Flick--more properly known as
Lady Felicity Forster--was twelve when she decided she was going to marry her
handsome neighbor Darius Grantley. Now, embarking on her second season, she's
no nearer to that lofty ambition. She commits to making Darius fall in love
with her, if only he'd take a break from pleading the case of the common
criminal as a barrister at the Old Bailey.
Darius adores the
lovely, high-spirited younger sister of the Marquess of Denby, but he's all too
aware that Flick is far above him in social status, not to mention fortune.
Winning the high-profile Cuthbert case will earn him a promised appointment to
King's Counsel and just enough income to provide a home for his well-born lady.
But the cards are stacked
against him. Not only do the newspapers trumpet his clients' guilt, but a
powerful peer bribes the witnesses and threatens Flick unless Darius sabotages
his own case...

Wendy Soliman was brought up on
the Isle of Wight in Southern England but now divides her time between Andorra
and West Florida. She lives with her husband Andre and a rescued dog of
indeterminate pedigree named Jake Bentley.
The Isle of Wight is full of
historic buildings, which is where she acquired her love of history, absorbing
it like osmosis. She is the author of nine single-title Regency romances and is
excited about her up-coming series charting the fortunes of the Forster
dynasty.
When not writing she enjoys
reading other people’s books, walking miles with her dog whilst plotting her
next scene, and is on a one-woman mission to save the wine industry from the
economic slump. Well, someone’s got to do it!

One lucky winner will get a choice of a digital copy of COMPROMISING THE MARQUESS or BEGUILING THE BARRISTER (winner’s choice). All you have to do is leave a comment a nickname you had, and don't forget to include your name and email address.
For some reason, my nickname growing up in my immediate family was Nini. Not even close to Maria so I don't know how in the world I thought of that one but my mother swears that's what I told everyone was my name. And it stuck. Weirdness. Thanks for the giveaway chance! smrgrl@gmail.com
