The Bradens at
Peaceful Harbor are the newest addition to the award-winning Braden series and
the Love in Bloom family, joining the Snow Sisters, the Bradens, the
Remingtons, & Seaside Summers, (Voted BEST BOOK SERIES by Supportive
Business Moms, UK).
Fall in love with Nate Braden & Jewel
Fisher in Healed by Love.
Nate Braden has
loved his best friend’s younger sister Jewel for as long as he can remember,
but between their age difference and his respect for Rick, he’s always kept his
feelings at bay. Now he’s back in Peaceful Harbor, and Jewel is no longer
sixteen years old—but there’s an even bigger obstacle standing in his way. Nate
and Rick joined the military together eight years earlier. Nate came home a
hero, but Rick didn’t make it out alive.
My Thoughts:
So, I was able to read Healed By Love by Melissa Foster. This book was a little bit of a struggle at first, then things started to fit in. A lot of my trouble was with Jewel. She wasn't a horrible character, but she was a little over protective of her family. You don't get a full grasp until you draw closer to the end, and gain an understanding on where she was coming from. All I could think was she should have been going to grief counseling, and I personally think she should go now. However, we are going to move on from my personal feelings about counseling.
Back to the story and my thoughts. So, we are getting to know a new set of Braden's that Peaceful Harbor. Of course they are related to Colorado Bradens, and you have to admit it's kind of fun to see the extended family. In Healed By Love, we meet most of these Bradens. It might be overwhelming to have them all pretty much introduce, but they are so intertwine into one another lives. We get that in this story.
As we know I had a little trouble with Jewel, and I'm glad she had a friend that could be blunt with her about her behavior. I actually like how Chelsea trying to Jewel with understanding that it wasn't Nate's fault that her brother died. Okay Nate. I did like Nate, and I felt bad for the guy for carrying around this guilt about believing he killed Jewel's brother. He might have given the order, but he didn't pull the trigger. Plus, it was war and not everyone is going to come back. It was interesting to watch the dynamic between Jewel and Nate. You see that both have strong feelings for one another, and they both believe the other doesn't return the same feelings. We get to see the struggle between the two. Also, we see Nate struggle with the guilt and his feelings for Jewel.
Overall, it wasn't a bad read. We got to meet some new Bradens. Those who are fan of Melissa's books will enjoy the relationship with Nate and Jewel. If you want to take a chance on Nate and Jewel and watch them overcome the past grief to form a new relationship, you might consider reading Healed By Love.
