RockStar PR Review: His Contract by Rebecca Grace Allen

His Contract

Blurb
Lawyers know when to play by the rules…and when to break them.
Harvard law professor Jack Archer once balanced his professional life with the private world of dominance, surrender, and trust he shared with his wife. Since cancer stole her a year ago, finding love again—her final wish for him—is the furthest thing from his mind. From his empty house to the classroom, grief follows his every move. Until he meets a young woman with shadows in her eyes even darker than his own.

Once a shining star at law school, Lilly Sterling's dreams died when the Dom she trusted left her heartbroken and lost. She's starting fresh in a new city as a paralegal, but meeting Jack reawakens all her old demons—and her lingering desires.

Jack offers to become Lilly's mentor for both the courtroom and the playroom, but tells himself it's not a relationship. Their carefully worded contract guarantees that. But when their trial agreement starts heating up, both Jack and Lilly must decide what will tip the scales: the letter of the law…or love?

Warning: All rise for a book that contains a wounded submissive and a Dominant who wants to retrain her while retaining control of his heart. Discovery phase may involve spankings, bondage, edging, and blindfolds. Is it hot? You be the judge.

My Thoughts:
Okay, I was giving a chance to read His Contract by Rebecca Grace Allen. We get to travel the world of BDSM. So, we have Lilly and Jack who find out that they are both into BDSM, but there a few hang ups as they get to know one another.

Lilly likes the idea of BDSM, but her first partner was a terrible choice. This my thoughts on her first BDSM relationship with Damien: He used BDSM to mask abusive tendency. He found away to control Lilly, and give the full facts of BDSM, and he used to his power to convince her that she was nothing. It wasn't until she met Jack and they went through a contract that she realize that what Damien did was wrong and unethical. Damien crushed her spirit and she didn't know how to put the pieces back together. She didn't quite understand what a submissive roll was until Jack. She began to realize that
submission didn't mean being coerced, having things forced upon you or suffering the consequences of saying no. It was about intimacy. Trust.
The breakthrough of not feeling ashamed finally hits. Damien did a huge number on her, and it's sad that he used BDSM as a way to mask abuse.

When Lilly and Jack get together, it's definitely a work in progress, because each of them is hinder by the past. We have Lilly who is coming out of a bad secret relationship and Jack who is recovering from the death of his wife. Also, there is a bit of an age gap (16 years). That kind of played a part in the relationship, because he has son that is a few years younger than Lilly. Jack is the main one to have issues with being open about the relationship.

His Contract is filled with hot steamy scenes as Jack and Lilly explore one another and overcome the past. Both of them have issues and it takes Jack a little longer than Lilly to overcome his issues. You will also find supportive characters that help them come to realization that they are good together. So, if you are looking for something like this, you give Jack and Lilly's story a try in the His Contract.
