Forever Your Earl by Eva Leigh (Review)

Let me start off Eva Leigh's Forever Your Earl cover, at first I wasn't sure if I liked the cover. It's a gorgeous cover, but I thought the heroine looked a little mature. When I started to read the story, the cover complete fit the story. I learned that Eleanor is in her 30s, which isn't a typical heroine. Yes, you do find older heroines, but they aren't common in historical. Majority of the time they are in their late 20s. Anyway, Forever Your Earl is a refreshing new story that takes a strong independent heroine on adventure with a rake.

A strong independent heroine who ends up on an adventure with a rake would be the simplest of explanation to Forever Your Earl. However, it is more than that. Forever Your Earl is a story about an Earl who is looking for his best friend and has decided to put himself out there to hide the fact he's looking for his friend. So, we meet Daniel Balfour, the Earl of Ashford. He's loyal, charming, witty, and a rake. Basically, he goes to the Hawke Eye to offer an exclusive adventure with a rake, but Daniel doesn't know how to take it when he finds out the owner is a female. Changes everything.

Now Eleanor Hawke is an intelligent woman who is business savvy and will do almost anything to sell her paper. She decides to take Daniel's offer, but not fully trusting him. Come on his an aristocrat and she's plebeian (had to use the word cause it's found in the book quite a bit). Anyway.

At first, Forever Your Earl is a little slow to start with, but starts to pick up speed when Daniel and Eleanor start their adventure. Their adventures are a lot of fun. We follow along their journeys through gaming hells, phaeton races (reminds me of late night drag races), masquerades, and the Vauxhall. While they are doing all this engaging in verbal foreplay. They are equally match when it comes to spoken word that you seem to forget that she's of a lower class. A beautiful story with witty banter and adventures. So, if you are in the mood for rakes and intelligent heroines, you might settle down with Forever Your Earl. I for one can't wait to see what happens to Eleanor's friend in the next book.
