Book Description:
All former Navy SEAL Mason Lawson craves is solitude. Unfortunately, his new neighbor won’t allow him the peace he so desperately needs. Between the traffic and the music, Mason is constantly on edge—not exactly what the doctor ordered for someone recovering from a bullet to the leg. However, when he finally has enough and confronts his neighbor, nothing can prepare him for how hot he’d get for the teacher next door.

Piano teacher, Skylar Jernigan, loves everything about the town of Jessamine—from the quaint Main Street shops to the people who own them. Unfortunately, once she’s chewed up and spit out by her sexy neighbor, Skylar begins to question her decision to move to a new town. Until, that is, she learns he’s suffering from a war wound and refuses to have anything to do with his family.

Now, Skylar is determined to help Mason recover—mentally, physically and socially—until he turns the tables and sets out to seduce Skylar right out of her meddling ways. Only seduction turns into something more and soon, Mason can’t stop looking for excuses to be with her. But when the Navy wants Mason to reenlist for a dangerous mission, will Skylar be too irresistible for him to leave?

My Thoughts:
We all know how much I enjoy Marquita's books. If you have read any of her books, you would have notice they all tied together in one another. I have to say that I actually liked to see the connection in the story, because it kind of makes you realize how small the world really is. Anyway, there is a tie between characters in Love So Irresistible to the Holland Springs books. It's kind of interesting, but I don't want to say exactly what it is, because I want you all to discover it. I know I'm such a tease. Okay, let's get back to Skylar and Mason.

Let's start with Mr. Grumpy Pants. At the beginning of the story, I think he would give Oscar the Grouch a run for his money, because I think he could out grouch him. Mason is dealing with a lot of things. He just came back from a mission a change man and he doesn't know how to deal with it. He has a hard time, especially with his gregarious family. He walls himself from his family, and like normally family they worry about him. Fortunately, he meets his adorable neighbor, but he doesn't find her adorable right away.

Skylar is cute, adorable, and kind everyone, even to Mr. Grumpy Pants. Come on she teaches music to impressionable children when she could be making a name for herself. Yes, there is more than meets the eye when it comes to Skylar. However, she does have a slight flaw. This flaw isn't her fault, but the result of circumstance. When she was younger, her family would move around and so she never made roots. So, when things got difficult she would move, and it's a defense mechanism.

Okay, now we throw these two together you wouldn't think they would be good together, but they help each other. In ways they help one another grow. You may think that Skylar is the main one helping Mason, but Mason helps Skylar to be open to letting people into her life. This story is a beautiful story about two people trying to be whole. You have Mason trying to live again and Skylar trying to find home. Overall, it's an enjoyable read, and fairly quick. Some things could have been drawn out a little more, but it was still a good read. If you are looking for a read where you have guy trying to find his footing and has a help of cute kind girl, you might enjoy Love So Irresistible.
