Hard Ink Tattoo owner Jeremy Rixey has taken on his brother’s stateside fight against the forces that nearly killed Nick and his Special Forces team a year before. Now, Jeremy’s whole world has been turned upside down—not the least of which by a brilliant, quiet blond man who tempts Jeremy to settle down for the first time ever.
Recent kidnapping victim Charlie Merritt has always been better with computers than people, so when he’s drawn into the SF team’s investigation of his army colonel father’s corruption, he’s surprised to find acceptance and friendship—especially since his father never accepted who Charlie was. Even more surprising is the heated tension Charlie feels with sexy, tattooed Jeremy, Charlie’s opposite in almost every way.
With tragedy and chaos all around them, temptation flashes hot, and Jeremy and Charlie can’t help but wonder why they’re trying so hard to be good...
My Thoughts:
First off, I normally steer clear from M/M romance, because it's just not my thing. However, I absolutely love the Hard Ink Series, because each book has been amazing and has built upon one another. So, I didn't want to miss something cause I normally do not read M/M romance. With that said, I'm glad I didn't miss an opportunity to see what happens in this story.
At the end of Hard to Come By all hell broke loose, and Hard Ink building suffered some majored damage. Not only that we had a close call with death in the last book, so Jeremy is reevaluating his life and willing to take a chance on Charlie. Then we have Charlie who is awkward, shy, and unsure about himself. Part of his problem is his father never accepted the fact that he was homosexual, and he will never get the approval. So, we have these issues between Jeremy and Charlie, and they need to come to terms on what is important to them.
Laura Kaye is an amazing writer, and I love how she can draw you into a story. Hard To Be Good is no different from the rest of the Hard Ink books. We see in the story that she adds another to menagerie of characters. I love the new character, because he just fits into the group. Anyway, the story has them preparing for the big fight that is brewing. I thought the relationship of Jeremy and Charlie was beautifully written. For someone who isn't a big fan of M/M it was done with taste. The love scenes were full of emotion and steam. Those who are a fan of the Hard Ink series don't want to miss this story. Settle yourself down for a read with Jeremy and Charlie and feel the love and laughter that you will find in Hard To Be Good.
