No Ordinary Mistress by Robyn DeHart

The other day I finished No Ordinary Mistress by Robyn DeHart. This is the first in her new series Masquerading Mistresses and I have to say that it's a great start to the series. Since this is a novella, I'm not going to go into a lot of detail, because it would be easy to give away the story.

Remington Hawthorne, Earl of Latham, and Miss Emma Masterson were on an assignment in France. When Emma's next assignment came in, Remy wasn't too happy about it. Before she started the assignment, he left and they hadn't seen each other since. Jump ahead Emma is in trouble and needs protection, Remy is the lucky one to be selected.

Mainly, No Ordinary Mistress is establishing the storyline to the new series, which probably be about the female spies in the organization Emma and Remy are apart.  I enjoyed this quick read, and I wish that the story was a little longer. Yes, I wish Remy and Emma's coming together was a little bit drawn out. However, it's a novella and you have you make due with a quick story. Overall, I like that we are establishing the series for future book and the ending makes it possible for the continuation the grand storyline. So, if you are looking for a historical read with spies, you might consider reading No Ordinary Mistress.
