When Quinn
Rockwell left Rockwell Island a decade ago to build a shipping empire, he never
thought he’d return to live on Cape Cod Bay—that is, until his grandfather
summons Quinn and his four siblings to take over the prestigious Rockwell
Resort. Quinn is already working fifteen-hour days, and the last thing he has
time for is his grandfather’s demands. But on his first night back, when Quinn
finds a gorgeous and carefree woman skinny-dipping in his favorite cove, he’s
tempted to ignore his work for a while…and focus on her instead.
As a free
spirit who follows her heart and her dreams, Shelley Walters is not the kind of
girl to wait around for Mr. Right, so she heads to Rockwell Island for the
honeymoon of her dreams—a solo honeymoon. Ready for a week of sun and fun, she
never expected to meet a man like Quinn Rockwell.
Wealthy
and intensely driven, Quinn is everything Shelley swore she didn’t want.
Refreshingly spontaneous and a true romantic, Shelley is everything Quinn never
knew he needed. Drawn together despite their differences, during a week of
sizzling-hot passion and deep conversations, they fall head over heels for each
other. But when their perfect week on the island is over, will their love
survive in the real world?
My Thoughts:
From the get go Bella and Melissa reel me in with a story filled with character and charm. At the beginning we meet Shelley. Shelley is an interesting character, because she's an independent woman who doesn't need a man in her life to go on a honeymoon. Plus, she believe that a husband wouldn't suit her lifestyle. Shelley is very free-spirited almost hippy like, and completely different from her family. One of her fears was finding a guy like her father. Next we meet Quinn. Now Quinn is a workaholic and would put everything else on the back burner to his career. It wasn't until he met the charming Shelley that he realize there is more to life that his career.

I liked Cape Cod Kisses, because you have two people who happen to stubble upon one another, and fell into this easy camaraderie. At first it was a little rocky, because Quinn's workaholic tendency was tainting the budding relationship. Even though her inner voice was warning her away from Quinn, she was willing to give Quinn a chance. I liked that Quinn realized he was a better person when he was around Shelley, and "she'd reawakened his adventurous side."
Overall, Cape Cod Kisses was an enjoyable read. Quinn and Shelley are adorable couple. I like how this story sets up the rest of the series. Basically, his grandfather has summoned the family to the island to coerce them into taking over the resort. However, they banded together, stood up to the grandfather, and took over on their terms. I'm excited to see if Trent and Drew will leave after the year requirement is up or will something entice them to stay. We see that Quinn has found someone to entice him to stay. Great start to a new series and I can't wait to see what awaits in the next book. Need that romantic getaway take a trip to Rockwell Island where the charm and guys will have you captivated. Even though Quinn wasn't the most romantic guy at the beginning, he some how manages to bring that out when he's around Shelley. So, fall in love with Cape Cod Kisses.
