A Spiced Apple Winter by Emma Cane (Review)

This is a the first time I have read an Emma Cane book. I have read other stories by this author written under Gayle Callen, and I enjoyed those stories. However, there is something magical about small town romances and all the trouble they can stir. Yet, there wasn't a lot of trouble in A Spiced Apple Winter. Nope, there's just these two people who have been friends together forever, and one night had a little fun. Now both parties are trying to forget, but can't quite forget.

Tyler Fairfield has come home to do his duty for the family farm. He has a set time limit, and eventually would like to get back to his life in New York. At the same time he needs to keep his distance from a certain red-head, this makes for some awkward encounters. Now Brianna MacDougall has a lot on her plate, and she's trying her best to keep cool. Again there is an awkwardness between her and Tyler. Sleeping with friends changes things. Of course, Tyler thought the best course of action is help another friend and pretend to be in a relationship. This should help him keep his distance from Brianna.

Talk about things being complicated. However, they seem to start to workout as the story progresses. However, it wouldn't be much of a story if there wasn't a little scandal. Anyway, A Spiced Apple Winter definitely put a smile on my face. I love the small town story, but it wasn't loaded with drama. Yes, there is a happy ending. By the time I finished the story, A Spiced Apple Winter definitely had me yearning for more. Do I plan to checkout the backlist Emma Cane books, oh yeah. A great balance of romance, trouble, story.
