Illegitimate yet thoroughly irresistible, the Renegade Royals are leaving behind their careers as daring spies for the greatest adventure of all…

At sixteen, Alasdair Gilbride, heir to a Scottish earldom, fled the Highlands and an arranged betrothal. Ten years later, Alasdair must travel home to face his responsibilities. It’s a task that would be much easier without the distracting presence of the most enticing woman he’s ever met…

After one escapade too many, Eden Whitney has been snubbed by the ton. The solution: rusticating in the Scottish wilderness, miles from all temptation. Except, of course, for brawny, charming Alasdair. The man is so exasperating she’d likely kill him before they reach the border—if someone else weren’t trying to do just that. Now Eden and Alasdair are plunging into a scandalous affair with his life and her reputation at stake—and their hearts already irreparably lost…

My Thoughts:
We first meet Eden Whitney How to Plan a Wedding for a Royal Spy. Let me tell you that I actually liked Eden more than her sister Evelyn. Yes, I know that they are twins, but Edie just seem to have more outgoing personality. Kind of larger than life, while Evie was a little more down to earth and kept Edie grounded. Now we have Edie trying to make it on her own without her sister being constantly near by. We actually come to find out that more about Edie and Evie from this one quote:
People believed that Edie was the strong and fearless twin, ready to challenge the world but she knew better. Evelyn had true courage--inner steel that enabled her to stand for things that really counted.
Actually, Edie drew strength from Evie, especially when there mother would pick on Evie, and you watch Edie challenge her mother. So, you get a better understanding of the dynamics of the twins when you combine How to Plan a Wedding for a Royal Spy and How To Marry a Royal Highlander.

Anyway, Edie does something stupid like get caught in a compromising position (caught kissing) with Sir Malcolm and basically he flees the scene and her reputation is in ruins. However, she believes her popularity, attitude, and family can protect her from a tatters reputation. Yet, she comes to find out that it can't and now she needs to rusticate from the public eye. The originally plan was Yorkshire, but Wolf comes up with a better plan to have her go to Scotland with Alec. Sounds like a marvelous plan, NOT. If you had read How to Plan a Wedding for a Royal Spy you would remember that these two were at each other throats ready to kill one another. Like I have said in the past two things with this kind of intensity 1) They are going to kill one another or 2) Fall in love. Bound to happen, and I think Wolf sees that too.

I like the journey to Scotland, because we have these two cooped up in a carriage with her mother. Her mother is definitely full of surprises. She would be a a favorite character, because of how critical she was to Evie. However, we get to see her in a different light and we get to know her a little better. I actually grew found of her, which surprises me. She's very protective of her daughters once she lets her dragon ways down. Okay, enough of Edie's mother. Why I liked this part, because get Alec's bombshell. As these two draw closer together he has to reveal that he's betrothed to another. WHAT! That bastard! I know, he's just a flirt, a rake, well you get the point. Of course this throws Edie for a loop, because she was feeling like Alec could be the one. I just adore how Alec just stumble on his words around Edie. Most of the time he just shoves his foot in his mouth.

Honestly, I enjoyed this How to Marry a Royal Highlander more than How to Plan a Wedding for a Royal Spy, because the interaction between Edie and Alec is absolutely fun. They have such witty banter between the two of them and they worked well together. Once they get to Scotland it's like hell breaks all loose. Seriously, Alec's family makes my family look sane. No joke. That is whole another can of worms that I'm just going to leave alone. Crazy doesn't begin to describe them. As a whole the story is pretty awesome. I was highly entertained from banter and the shenanigans that happen in Scotland. So, if you are looking for Highland adventure with some family drama, you might consider checking out How To Marry a Royal Highlander.
