Sweet Cowboy Christmas by Candis Terry (Review)

Early this week I spotlighted Sweet Cowboy Christmas by Candis Terry. However, I didn't get my review up on Tasty Book Tours Spotlight + Giveaway + Exclusive Twelve Days of Sweet Giveaway: Sweet Cowboy Christmas by Candis Terry. Things happen, but you can still enter the giveaway if you like. Anyway, back to the purpose of the post and that is my thoughts. 

This is my first time reading Candis Terry's writing, even though I have a few of her books. (Yes, I have no control when it comes to sales on books). Anyway, I like novella's cause they give you a taste of an author to see if you would be willing to continue on. I happen to like Sweet Cowboy Christmas, because it was a cute sweet read. 

You have Chase Morgan who long ago gave up his cowboy boots and decided to try his hand at the cooperate ladder. However, life has a funny way of intervening, which causes him to rethink his life choices. So, he's not sure what to do with his life. He figure it would be a good time to go back to Texas. 

Now Faith Walker is the proprietor of Magic Box Guest Ranch, and Chase comes to stay there she automatically assumed he's just a rich guy wanting to play cowboy. I love that she assumed he didn't know anything about being a cowboy. So, she automatically has a chip on her shoulder that he's just a rich playboy. I love that he doesn't correct her, because he has ample opportunity. However he's from he camp action speaks louder than words, so he decides to help out around the ranch. This doesn't paint him as the playboy, but a good decent guy. 

The problem with novellas, it's easy to give too much away, especially when it's a good story. I adore Sweet Cowboy Christmas, because you have Chase coming to realize that Christmas isn't all bad. He has a good reason not to care for Christmas, and I can completely understand why. Yet he opens his heart to Christmas thanks to Faith. Faith learns that you can't paint all guys with the same brush. So, if you are looking for a quick Christmas read that give you something to smile about you might consider reading Sweet Cowboy Christmas.

He kissed her again just because he had to. "Does that taste like danger to you?" "Yes." She pushed him away and headed toward her horse. "A kiss tells me nothing. Women fall in love with mass murderers behind bars all the time. While they might be certifiably crazy, I am not." He caught up to her just before she set her foot in the stirrup and too her by the arm. "I promise. I'm not Charles Manson or anything like him."
