Blurb
From New York Times bestselling author Lorraine Heath, comes the second book in a brand new series, The Scandalous Gentlemen of St. James, featuring three eligible bachelors...and the scoundrels that reside within each.

Born to the street but raised within the aristocracy, Drake Darling can't escape his sordid beginnings. Not when Lady Ophelia Lyttleton snubs him at every turn, a constant reminder he's not truly one of them. But after rescuing her from a mysterious drowning, he realizes she doesn't remember who she is. With plans to bring her to heel, he insists she's his housekeeper—never expecting to fall for the charming beauty.

While Ophelia might not recall her life before Drake, she has little doubt she belongs with him. The desire she feels for her dark, brooding employer can't be denied, regardless of consequences. So when Ophelia's memory returns, she is devastated by the depth of his betrayal. Now Drake must risk everything to prove she can trust this rogue with her heart once more.

My Thoughts:

I personally enjoyed Once More, My Darling Rogue. Truth be told, some people might find the premise of an amnesia story a bit over the top or far-fetched. Here's my take on that: it's a story. Come on it's fiction and who is to say it couldn't happen. Anyway, there is my little rant. Now back to my thoughts.

So, we have Lady Ophelia who is just god awfully mean at the beginning. Seriously, she' cruel. However, there is always a reason for a person to be cruel or mean, and we don't see why.  As the story progress we just get impressions on what causes her cruelty towards Drake. Well, Drake didn't have a wonderful beginning. Actually, it's pretty bad, but he was able to overcome his circumstances with the help of Duke of Greystone. Plus, it doesn't help that Ophelia picks on Drake relentlessly. When Drake rescues Ophelia and she doesn't remember who she is, he finds the perfect revenge.

We all know revenge is never the answer, and it never taste as sweet. However, Drake is a stubborn man and is willing to carry out his plan. At the same time he has conflicted, because when Ophelia looking at him like he holds the key he doesn't know how to handle it. I like the story cause you have Ophelia trying so hard to remember, but it's just not happening and she's looking towards Drake he's her hero. As the story moves along Drake is compounded by his guilt, but not enough to tell Ophelia the truth. At the same time, Ophelia starts to have true feelings for him. You start to wonder what's going to happen when the truth comes out.

Honestly, I think Lorraine did a great job with the amnesia story, because they can't easy to write. Yeah, Drake probably should have done the right thing, but sometimes you have to put some in there place when the opportunity arrives. I do like sweet Ophelia, even though you do see bits of her come through as she regains her memory. I had a few chuckles and even had a few tears leaked out my eyes as I read Once More, My Darling Rogue. So, if you are looking for a rogue that's fed up and takes matters into his own hands when opportunity presents itself, you might give Once More, My Darling Rogue a go.
