Foolproof Love by Katee Robert (Review)

I actually finished a Foolproof Love a couple weeks ago, but with the move and trying to navigate the wifi I currently have (which is not the best). Anyway, I had a fun time reading Foolproof Love. Come on it's a fake relationship to prove to Jules ex-boyfriend she has moved on, which she has, but the douche didn't get the memo. However, Adam and Jules have a combustable chemistry. Jules knows that the relationship is temporary, because Adam has one foot out the door.

Oh my goodness, Jules is so adorable. She's practically the town spinster with her coffee shop with cats. Yes, she has crazy cat lady starter kit. At the same time she has bright sunny disposition that draws people to her. I love that about her. Adam is described as catnip to women. The sexy bull rider is trying to figure out his life while helping Jules out.

So much fun, these two stir up scandal in Devil's Falls. Katee introduces us to her new fun sexy read. You definitely find steam as you turn the pages of Foolproof Love, and fall in love with these two characters. A solid read with your heated scenes. Plus, you meet some of characters that I can't wait to read. I totally can't wait for Quinn and Aubry's book, because of this interaction this story:
"Tell me, sweet cheeks, did it hurt when you fell from heaven?"
"Nope, but I scraped my knees when I crawled up from hell."
"Witty. I like that. Maybe you and me should go get a drink sometime."
"Sorry, cowboy, but judging from the assets you're far too proud of displaying"--she waved at his crotch area--"I've had better. Not interested."
Oh my gosh, this is sounds so promising on there story. Anyway, fun read. If you love fake relationships that turn real, you will have fun with Foolproof Love.

Love Thy Enemy by Katie Reus (Review)

I must say that I liked Love Thy Enemy by Katie Reus. You don't necessary need to read the previous story to follow what is going on. The beginning sort of ties in with parts of the previous book, but then takes off in it's own direction. Basically, Dominique Castle hates Viktor Ivanov, because of something his father has done. Eventually the reason comes out, Viktor feels bad about the situation, and tries to make amends. While that is going on there is a secondary love story going between his brother and their assistant, It didn't necessary add to the story, but it was nice to see him to find happiness. I don't know if there was enough story to make its own story, so it was nice to add to Love Thy Enemy.

Overall, Love Thy Enemy was a good story. Most of the story didn't focus around Red Stone Security, but mainly Viktor has his associates, and how they operate. Eventually, Red Stone guys are called into action. Who knows we might see more Viktor guys. Dominique didn't know how to handle Viktor's kindness, because she lumped him in the same category as his father. Of course, she had to eat crow.

Harper Collins Spotlight + Review: The Girl from the Savoy by Hazel Gaynor

THE GIRL FROM THE SAVOY
A Novel
By Hazel Gaynor
William Morrow Paparbacks
May 31, 2016

About the Book

Presenting a dazzling new historical novel … The Girl From The Savoy is as sparkling as champagne and as thrilling as the era itself.

‘Sometimes life gives you cotton stockings. Sometimes it gives you a Chanel gown …’

Dolly Lane is a dreamer; a downtrodden maid who longs to dance on the London stage, but her life has been fractured by the Great War. Memories of the soldier she loved, of secret shame and profound loss, by turns pull her back and spur her on to make a better life.

When she finds employment as a chambermaid at London’s grandest hotel, The Savoy, Dolly takes a step closer to the glittering lives of the Bright Young Things who thrive on champagne, jazz and rebellion. Right now, she must exist on the fringes of power, wealth and glamor—she must remain invisible and unimportant.

But her fortunes take an unexpected turn when she responds to a struggling songwriter’s advertisement for a ‘muse’ and finds herself thrust into London’s exhilarating theatre scene and into the lives of celebrated actress, Loretta May, and her brother, Perry. Loretta and Perry may have the life Dolly aspires to, but they too are searching for something.

Now, at the precipice of the life she has and the one she longs for, the girl from The Savoy must make difficult choices: between two men; between two classes, between everything she knows and everything she dreams of. A brighter future is tantalizingly close—but can a girl like Dolly ever truly leave her past behind?

Embarking on a New Adventure

Yes, today we embark on a new adventure. About four years ago, we left California to the unknowns of Montana. If you asked me then how I feel it would have gone like this:
I'm counting down the days till we have to leave this state. We have 3 years and 364 days left.
Which is a horrible attitude to have, but I wasn't sure how I would feel about snow. Seriously, snow is a scary thing to a Californian, especially a Southern Californian where it's the same temp pretty much year around.

With each passing year Montana has grown on me. Seriously, this state sneaks up on you, and you don't know what hit you. So, when my husband told me that he put in for a new job, I was devastated. His thing was:
Chances of getting this job are slim. I'm not holding out hope, but I had to try.
Yes, I seriously hoped that he wouldn't get the assignment. Well, my wish didn't come true and it looks like we are heading to Oklahoma. NOOOOOOOOOO!

Now snow doesn't scare me anymore. Oh no; I'm deathly afraid of tornados. Tornados scare the living crap out me. I remember the E-5 that destroyed Oklahoma City in 1999. Everyone keeps telling me they're not that bad. I can handle earthquakes, because that is what I'm use. Tornados are different story and they happen every year. Yes, I have been getting advice from everyone about this area. Frankly, I rather deal with snow. If it's snowing extremely bad you don't go anywhere and you stay indoors where it's nice and warm. A tornado, you pray that nothing bad happens.

This is are next adventure. We will be in Oklahoma for 4 years. Who knows it might grow on me, only time can tell. I'm going to miss Montana, because I do love living here. Surprise, surprise. Tornado country here I come.

Have you ever embarked on a journey that has taken you out of your comfort zone? How did you cope? If you haven't what kind of adventure would you like take?

Awakened by the Wolf by Kristal Hollis (Review)

I was able to finished Awakened by the Wolf by Kristal Hollis. I have to say that I enjoyed the story. In Awakened by the Wolf, we meet a group of werewolves known as the Wahyas. We learn about there customs, which is a little different from other shifter stories I have read. Anyway, we meet Brice Walker and he's under the impression that he's banished from his families land. However, he needs to see his grandmother when he stumbles upon our heroine, Cassie.

Okay, I struggle with Cassie through most of the book. She's fiercely independent, and feels that if she asks for help from anybody, she's weak. Which is completely misconstrued, but that is a completely different story. During the story we see her fighting Brice protective instincts and his feelings for her through most of the story. Now Brice I did like a lot. He was patient, and not so at times with Cassie. Yet majority of the time he was patient and giving her space.

Something that bothered me was something that happens close to the end and Cassie views Brice and his family as animals for what they had to do. In someways I thought it was naïve of her to think that the Wahyas were the only ones to be brutal than normal human beings. Yes, they are wolves, but humans to atrocious things to other humans too. To paint all shifters like that kind of raise my hackles a little, and to say that if she hadn't come in contact with them put her in danger. Honestly, she can't know that for fact. Anyway, at times she rubbed me the wrong way.

Overall, I liked Awakened by the Wolf. I did like that it was little different take on shifter breeds. It was a good start for new author. Overall, I liked Brice, and had to warm up to Cassie.

When knowledge of Eden goes viral in the human realm, Trinity is Ramsay’s only hope for quelling mass panic. Can he risk revealing the secrets of his race to the guileless ray of sunshine? Or is she the unknown source of Eden’s destruction?
