A family crisis brings him home…
Just in time for Christmas

Cattleman Callen Laramie has no intention of returning to his hometown of Coldwater, Texas, until a Christmas wedding and a family secret convince him he has no choice. And when he’s reunited with his childhood crush, the girl who’d always been off-limits, Callen knows leaving might not be so easy this time.

Shelby McCall is as pretty as a Christmas snowfall, and Callen wants to kiss her under the mistletoe…and the Christmas tree…and the stars. But once Shelby knows the whole truth behind this homecoming, will their holiday fling come to an abrupt end? Or will she accept the gift of his heart?

My Thoughts:
Well, it's been a little more than a year since I last read a Delores Fossen book. My question to myself is why? Seriously, I have love her books. I guess I needed a Christmas read. Anyway, Lone Star Christmas was pretty good story. Plus, it sets the tone for the rest of the series. In her new series we will be following four brothers who had a rough life until they landed at Buck McCall's home. Now they are all grown up, and Buck has called them home for his wedding. However, Callen Laramie is a stubborn one, and they had to use another tactic.

All right, Callen was running from a lot of things, most important his past. There were some good things, but a lot of crappy things. However, one of the things in the past was Shelby McCall and fear at being castrated. Buck lifts that maybe a fling might be good to pass the time.

Shelby is Buck's daughter. She's watched all these kids come through her home. Some she's gotten to know well. However, one she had an attachment on for a long time. Maybe it's time for her to have a little fun with Callen. Also maybe folks might believe she's not broken-hearted from her broken off engagement.

Delores is a fantastic storyteller. She truly pulls you into a story and you feel for these characters. You want to see these characters get a happy ending, and they do. However, you have to read and find out. There are bumps along the way. Old fears creeping in here and there. Sometimes those fears do come back to haunt the characters; yes, you do wonder how it's all going to play out. I love how Delores intertwines these characters into a bigger picture. I can't wait to see how the brother's stories will play out in the rest of the series. This one focuses on Callen, but we do meet Judd, Nico, and Kace. Overall, a really fantastic start to a new series.
