InkSlinger PR Blog Tour + Review + Giveaway: Fractured Lines by Jen McLaughlin

FL Amazon

BOOK BLURB:

The lines we once crossed so easily have widened and torn us apart…

Once upon a time I thought Finn and I would live happily ever after, but real life doesn't always have a happy ending. He's testing my trust, and I'm losing faith in the man I thought I'd spend the rest of my life with, and there’s nothing I do can stop it. He’s the one I trusted to keep me safe, but now he’s the source of my greatest pain…

Forgiveness is fragile, and some fractures never fully heal...

One mistake—a slip in a moment of weakness—might cost me everything I've worked so hard for. The thing about trust is that it's a lot easier to lose than it is to build. Just as I'm about to give up and surrender to the demons from my past, an unexpected threat reminds me what I'm best at: protecting the woman I love. Whether or not she wants me, I will fight for Carrie and our daughter, and I will keep them safe—no matter the cost.

Even if I have to put my life and my heart on the line.

My Thoughts:
If you have been following the Out of Line series you would have known that Finn and Carrie have been through a lot over the course of their relationship. Anyway, Jen brings us back to Finn and Carrie a sometime later after Out of Mind to where they are little bit older and a family.

I love the book blurb to Fractured Lines, because it makes you wonder what would Finn do to jeopardize his marriage and family. So, the possibility could be endless, if you are new to Finn and Carrie's story. However, if you are not you would know that he wouldn't cheat on Carrie, because he loves her so much. Basically, it goes back to his problem back in Out of Mind, which nearly cost him everything he carried about.

I enjoyed this story, because it showed Finn and Carrie showed that it takes work to make a happy ever after. Sometimes there are underlining issues that you don't realize are there till a crisis happens and test you to see how you fare. During the story Finn and Carrie are tested. Finn and Carrie had only put a patch on the problem and they are realizing they need to seriously fix the problem. However, Finn believes everything is fine until he realize that it's not. It takes almost losing Carrie to realize he needs help for what he is dealing with.

Yes, you will find drama in Fractured Lines, but you all see hope towards the end. Both have to learn to trust one another again and rebuild their foundation. I liked that it wasn't sugar-coated yay everything is happy ever after, but they actually work to make things right. I personally thought what Jen did to open Finn's eyes crazy, but creative and a bit heart stopping. Overall, I liked Fractured Lines, because it gave you a glimpse after sometime into Finn and Carrie's life. Sometimes life isn't all roses, but somehow they manage to appear.
