Sometimes authors take a chance to write something out of their comfort zones, all because the story won't leave them alone. So, we have Fearless. Fearless is about a young woman who is just living her life. She tries not to make waves, she just living. However, life usually throws a wrench in the way, and we have to decide if we continue on the current course or take a chance. This is what we find with Halley Ward in Fearless.
We see Halley going through the motions of life, and not really living until Kane Harmon comes to her rescue. Kane kind of plants himself into Halley's life. He sees someone is yearning to break free, but not sure how to help. Halley doesn't realize she wants to break free from the monotony of life. However, she's holding back, because her past. Honestly, I wish Carly went into a little more in depth of Halley's past, because I probably would have been a little more sympathetic to her fear of being in a relationship. So, there were times I was frustrated with her. I did like Kane and his willingness to stick it out for her.
Yes, there ups and downs in this story. One of the downs almost breaks them apart for good. However, Fearless is a good story. It's a little different from Carly's usual books, but it's a good. I like how they can overcome past to get to happy ending. Overall, I liked Fearless. A fairly strong story, and I wish there was a little more depth with Halley's background, but overall good. I like how Carly went out of her comfort zone, and took on a challenge of something a little more different. A good read.
