Heroes with Hearts of Steal Blog Tour #1 Walt from Handled By Officer By Kym Roberts

Welcome to my continuity character interview blog tour! With two books releasing within days of each other and another one on the way, I decided to give a taste of all of my men in one tour. I’ve attached a promo pic for your stop only, along with all of my covers. The hero from Handled By Officer is featured in your post.

Hi Melody! Thanks for having me ;)

Welcome to my blog continuity, Heroes with Hearts of Steal, it’s an introduction to my heroes from my current releases Handled By Officer & Dead On Arrival, along with the hero from my upcoming release Dead Man’s Carve. I took my men out for dinner at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego. None of them knew the others would be there, and they had no idea what I was planning to do to their futures. I was excited, and scared, and to be honest, I was kind of loving the fact that they didn’t know what (or who) was going to hit them next.  This was the only warning they’d get, before they met the women who would turn their lives, and hearts upside down. My first hero is about to find out he’s not the only one. :D

Blog #2

Sometimes it’s better to keep a man in the dark until the very last minute.  At least that’s what I was telling myself as I sat at a secluded table having drinks with one of my heroes.  I’ve known Walt Raynham since he was a young recruit at the police academy. He’s always been cocky, but that’s a given with a man who has the looks women love and brawn men envy. Walt’s size could make the worst street rat lay down on the ground and interlock his fingers on the back of his head in submission.

Can you imagine what it would be like not to be challenge every time you had contact with someone who hated the badge you wore? The power his mere presence had on people was incredible. Of course, it’s also true that he has the opposite effect on women. They don’t back away, they flock to him.

Like the brave tourist with the long chestnut hair, and athletic body who had apparently seen him walk into our secluded area and decided she was going to make her move. She wiggled up to the table in her tight black dress, exposing legs up to her eye brows that were slim and muscular. Her arms defined her workout and her lips were full and pouty as she fluttered long, false eyelashes.

Walt lifted a questioning eyebrow in my direction, wondering if I invited her to take one of the three empty seats at our table. The slight shake of my head was missed by Ms. I’m-gonna-get-this-man-in-my bed-if-it-kills-me. But she wasn’t his type and Walt was a gentleman. He was having dinner and drinks with me, a married woman almost twice his age. His dismissal of the woman who asked if he was a member of the Hemsworth family was immediate, although I couldn’t help but notice the business card she placed in his palm as he shook her hand goodbye.

“So are you going to tell me who is joining us for dinner?” He asked as sat back down next to me with his back to the wall.

Guilt washed over me. If I wasn’t here, he’d no doubt be getting busy with the brunette, because she wasn’t his type … past one night. I should tell him the truth. I took a drink of my second amaretto sour and my jaw tightened from its tart bite.

Walt’s mouth quirked again. “Sooner or later you’re going to have to confess your crime.”

“You’ve never met them before, but you have a lot in common with them.” I said as I took another sip to hide my discomfort.

“You swore this wasn’t a blind date, so what else…” Walt’s expression turned into a warning. “I sure hope you didn’t sign me up for some “show like American Nin … oh, shit. Please tell me you did not sign me up for The Bachelor.”

I choked on a chunk of ice in my drink, coughing to the point that Walt took the drink from my hand and patted my back, his large palm splaying across my shoulder blades. I wheezed as the ice burned my throat and filled my eyes with tears.  This was the payback I deserved for lying to him.

Always the hero, Walt forgot all his irritation and began rubbing my back, his warmth spreading over my skin.  My breathing finally started to become more controlled, no thanks to his touch, as I leaned forward with my palms flat on the table and my head down.

I probably looked like I was surrendering to the gods. Maybe I was.

Walt pulled my hair back, out of my face. “Are you okay?” he asked.

I looked up into his sea-blue eyes clouded with concern for my well-fare, and at that moment I knew I’d done the right thing by him. Walt was a knight in shining armor, strong, honorable, ready to battle the biggest, badest enemy life brought him. But he was also a nurturer, a caretaker with a giving spirit and a man who would be a great father.

Before I could answer, someone else interrupted. Someone I was expecting who turned my stomach into knots just thinking about him. And he wasn’t the least bit happy.

“Brah, I think you better take your hands off of her, before I break that stick you call an arm.” Makaio’s warning was definitely more of a threat than anything else, and it had the desired effect on its target.

Walt stiffened, knowing he was in another man’s sights and looked up to meet the threat head-on.
What he didn’t know? Next week he’d have a huge target on his chest that was in line with his heart.  Because next week, Walt was going to realize exactly what he was missing in his life. Kiley was coming for him, he’d be in her sights, and there wasn’t a damn thing he could do about it.

Have you ever known a guy who’d met his match before he did? Or do you think women in general can see it coming sooner than men?

To find out who thinks he can break Walt’s arm, check out my website for my next stop — you  don’t want to miss the man who stole a piece of my heart!

Handled by Officer (Women Behind the Badge)

Recruit officer Kiley Gibbons has walked in her twin sister’s shadow her entire life—born two minutes after, she’s five inches shorter with curls gone wild and the exact opposite of her outgoing, athletic sister. But that’s exactly why she’s the one woman who caught Walt Raynham’s eye, and she's the only one who threatens his future in the tactical unit.

Officer Raynham is everything Kiley needs to distract her from the daily grind at the police academy, too bad his drop dead gorgeous body is wearing the uniform of her boss. And when the academy is finally behind her, Kiley must find the strength to walk away from the man she shouldn’t touch.

But when her friend’s death leaves Kiley with two children to raise and a custody battle she just might lose, there’s only one man strong enough to step in and fill the role of her fiancé. Now Kiley’s not sure she wants to resist the temptation Walt causes, and he’s not so sure a family would be such a bad thing. Together, they discover love and an engagement of convenience could be an unstoppable force for happily ever-after ... until a killer has another idea that may cost them everything they didn’t want.

Kym Roberts Bio:

Three career paths resonated for Kym during her early childhood: a detective, an investigative reporter, and…a nun. Being a nun, however, dropped by the wayside when she became aware of boys—they were the spice of life she couldn’t deny.
In high school her path was forged when she took her first job at a dry cleaners and met every cop in town, especially the lone female police officer in patrol. From that point on there was no stopping Kym’s pursuit of a career in law enforcement—even if she had to duct tape rolls of coins to her waist to meet the weight requirements to be hired.
Kym followed her dream and became a detective that fulfilled her desire to be an investigative reporter, with one extra perk—a badge. Promoted to sergeant Kym spent the majority of her career in SVU. She retired from the job reluctantly when her husband drug her kicking and screaming to another state, but writing continued to call her name, at least in her head.
