Mini Excerpt From Falling for Mr. Wrong

She considered walking out, but then the corner of his mouth quirked, just a little, and he reached out to tuck a long strand of her hair behind one ear. When he touched the edge of her jaw, a trail of goose bumps splintered down her spine.
She couldn’t turn away. Not from a man with a smile that reached right down inside her, or eyes that were sexy, yet warm, the kind that belonged to a man who spent a lot of his time laughing. A man who would spend the night and buy you breakfast in the morning.
"Well, to answer your question, I'm leaving tomorrow for Nepal." The flutter between her legs grew to a throb.
"Dear God." Ross pulled back, frowning. "Are you climbing Mount Everest?"
Kelsey smiled. "No. Annapurna, actually. Annapurna One."
"There's more than one of them?"
"It's a section of peaks in the Himalayas. Annapurna One is the tallest. Not as big as Everest, but size isn't everything."
Ross waggled his eyebrows. "Anyone who says that is lying, you know."

Spring Honeycutt wants two things: to ace her sustainable living thesis and to save the environment. Both seem hopelessly unobtainable until her college professor suggests that with a new angle, her paper could be published. Spring swears she’ll do whatever it takes to ensure that happens.

Whatever it takes, however, means forming a partnership with the very hot, very privileged, very conceited Henry Knightly.

Henry is Spring's only hope at publication, but he's also the über-rich son of a land developer and cash-strapped Spring’s polar opposite—though she can't help being attracted to the way he pushes her buttons, both politically and physically. Spring finds there's more to Henry than his old money and argyle sweaters…but can she drop the loud-and-proud act long enough to let him in? Suddenly, choosing between what she wants and what she needs puts Spring at odds with everything she believes in.

Game for Trouble by Karen Erickson

So, I finished Game for Trouble by Karen Erickson. I actually have been dying to read this before it even had a title. If you had read Game for Marriage you would remember Nick and Willow and how there was this chemistry between them. However, they were secondary characters and weren't really important to Game for Marriage. Now Nick and Willow have there story and there is a little more than what I was expecting.

Willow has had an issue with football players, and thinking that they were players in more than one way. Only way you get those kind of thought is when you get burn by a athlete and you have scars from the incident. Which Willow does. Six years early Willow dated Nick Hamilton and she got dumped in the harshest way. Of course she's going to carry a chip on her shoulder when it comes to Nick.

Nick is a good ol' southern boy who was madly in love with Willow six years ago, but he did an idiot thing and dumped her. It wasn't because he wanted to play the field; no, it was Willow's good old daddy making the calls. After all he didn't want Willow entangled in with a football player, because she will get hurt.

Basically, Nick is trying to win back Willow in the story. Poor Nick. The guy has to jump through hoops to get Willow to look at him and he might have gone about it the wrong way. However, the more they hang out together, the more Willow starts to melt and land into Nick.

Overall, the story is really good for a past lovers story. They both want each other, but the past still hangs in the air and does jeopardizes the relationship. Plus, it doesn't help that Willow runs hot and cold when she's around Nick. Yes, it's a self-preservation mechanism, but I'm surprise Nick held on for so long. I guess love will make you do anything. I absolutely love Nick with his southern charm; it's easy to fall in love with him. So, if you love hot football players that will have you melting by his charm, you might consider reading Game for Trouble. Nick Hamilton is definitely trouble looking for.

Autumn in the Vineyard by Marina Adair

All right, for the past few days I have been trying to come up with what to say about Autumn in the Vineyard by Marina Adair. First off, I LOVE this book, and since it was so awesome I'm at a lost for words. One thing, it would be super easy to spill the beans about the story and tell you everything, because it was that awesome. However, that wouldn't be fair to everyone.

Reasons I love the story:

Frankie: She's a walking contradiction. Even though she acts big and tough, she really does have a good heart and willing to anything for people that she truly cares about. She tries so hard to get the love her family, but they seem to only give it on conditions. This tears Frankie up inside, and she's trying to hold it together.

Nate: The Golden Boy. The guy who can do no wrong and basically charm anything with his smile. Once he learns Frankie's situation he tries to help her. However, it doesn't go so well, because she doesn't trust him. Which is completely understandable, after all he's a Deluca and she's a Baudouin.

Mittens: The Alpaca. He's eats anything and everything. However, when Frankie needs a friend that won't judge or say anything, he's there for her.

I love this story, because it has it all. You're laughing and crying through this book. You feel the turmoil that Frankie goes through as she tries to rebuild her life. Then life has a sense of humor when she ends up stuck with her mortal enemy Nate. Her dislike for Nate goes further than the feud behind the family. This enemies to lovers story will have you entertain through out the book and wondering if it will become love or bloodshed. So, you like a good enemies to lovers story or a love for alpacas, I would highly recommend Autumn in the Vineyard.

Side note: This is a book three that can be a stand alone, but to get the full effect you might want to read the other Kissing Under the Mistletoe and Summer in Napa first before jumping into Autumn in the Vineyard.

With Every Heartbeat by Melody Grace

I just finished With Every Heartbeat by Melody Grace. First off, this is a sweet read about two people meeting while in Rome. Both have a passion for dancing and both have promising careers to the art.

Annalise Taylor has the chance to following in her mothers footsteps and become one of the best ballerina dancers. When she meets Raphael she's willing to sacrifice a her dream to be with him.

I really liked this story. Yes, it is a sweet read. Most of the story Annalise and Raphael's relationship runs pretty much smoothly. There isn't much contention and drama. Yes, there is a little drama that goes on, but nothing that will give you a heart attack while reading. Of course, you have to the relationship put to the test, but honestly it really doesn't happen towards the end. Basically, the story is about Annalise trying to decided what's more important to her ballet or Raphael. Which is tough choice for her, especially when her mother appears. So, if you are looking for a pretty easy going read, you might want to check out With Every Heartbeat.

EXCERPT:

A new burst of music sounds, pulsating and wild, and suddenly, my thoughts fade clear away, blotted out as completely as the sun during an eclipse.
            I see him.
Standing, poised, waiting for his intro, his body proud and arched, arms raised. There’s a girl waiting beside him, his partner, but I only have eyes for him.
God, he’s gorgeous. Dark curly hair, tanned skin, and piercing blue eyes that seem to shimmer against the gold of his skin. He’s dressed in a starched white shirt and tuxedo pants that fit him like a glove. The breath is sucked from my lungs, and I feel a thrill ripple through me, a sensation I’ve never known before: anticipation, as if I know something important is about to happen. Something life-changing.
And then he starts to dance.
            Dear Lord ...
I swear, time stops as I watch him move. It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen: part Latin ballroom, part street, part modern contemporary. And all of it totally devastating.
I stare, awestruck, as he plays out a wicked game with his partner: bringing her in, sending her away, lifting her as effortlessly as if she was made of air. His movements are bold, dominating. There’s no cheap grinding, or tacky thrusts, but somehow, every step oozes sensuality, such an intimate connection between the dancers that I feel myself start to blush.
It’s mesmerizing, out of this world, and I’m completely lost to it, caught up in the story of love and betrayal they’re telling with their bodies until at last, he whirls her out one more time and then pulls her back; dipping her so low her hair grazes the ground.
They freeze there, holding the pose. There’s silence, so pure you could hear a pin drop, and in that moment, he lifts his head and looks out across the square.
            Our eyes lock.
It’s only a split second, those piercing blue eyes on mine, but I feel the moment stretch for an eternity. His gaze crashes through me, setting every nerve and sense alight, as if I’m touchpaper and he’s a molten spark, dancing through my bloodstream.
And then the thunder of applause breaks the spell, and I realize I’m digging my nails into my palms, gasping for breath.
            Who is this man?

"Melody Grace has crafted a sweeping and emotional romance that pulls you in so deep, you won't ever want to surface. It's that good." –Sawyer Bennett

Why Dukes Say I Do by Manda Collins

The past few days I have been tackling Why Dukes Say I Do by Manda Collins. First off, I have enjoyed a couple of stories by Manda Collins. I believe that she's a talented writer. However, I kind of struggle to get into the story. I really don't know why, but I just did. I guess I was being a finicky reader or something.

Anyway, we meet Isabella, Georgina, and Perdita who are tied together as friends, but also share a secret of what really happen the night of the death of the previous Duke of Ormonde. Well, each of these ladies are being terrorize by a note that states "I know what you did last season." That actually kind of reminded my of I Know What You Did Last Summer. So, I'm curious if we will be seeing more of that theme throughout the series, because honestly I don't think we have the seen of the last of that. However, I could be wrong.

However, the story focuses more on Isabella. Well, Isabella is basically order by the her godmother the Dowager Duchess of Ormonde to fetch her grandson who is the new Duke of Ormonde. Now Trevor Carey has no desire to go to London and basically he believes he can take care of his ducal responsibility from his home in Yorkshire. Trevor is pretty stubborn about not going to London to take his seat, but Isabella is just as stubborn. Basically, it's the battle of wits to see will cave first, Trevor believes he will have Lady Isabella packing her bags back to London in no time. HA! He doesn't realize he has met his match.

Throughout the book you see these two trying to get the other to see their point of view. Each of them realizes that they both have a valid points on the countryside and London. Eventually they compromise.  While they are coming to terms you have Isabella being terrorize by someone who knows what happen last season. This causes some fears. Of course, Trevor feels that it's his duty to protect Isabella.

Overall, not a bad read and it made me curious to see what happens next. Will we see the "I know what  you did last season" theme in the next book? Even though they caught the person who was terrorizing Isabella, but I think there might be more who know than we believe. I guess it's a wait and see. So, if your curious about reading Why Dukes Say I Do, you can give it a try.
