Blurb:
The Ultimate Anti-Hero Meets His Match…
Connor Dunkle knows what he wants in a woman, and it’s the three B’s. Beauty. Body. Boobs. Other women need not apply. With his good looks and easygoing charm, he’s used to getting what he wants—and who. Until he comes face to face with the one woman who’s slowly making his life hell...and enjoying every moment...
Ella Blake is a single mom and a professor at the local Verily college who’s climbed up the ranks the hard way. Her ten-year-old son is a constant challenge, and her students are driving her crazy—namely Connor Dunkle, who’s failing her class and trying to charm his way into a better grade. Fuming at his chauvinistic tendencies, Ella teaches him the ultimate lesson by giving him a special project to help his grade. When sparks fly, neither of them are ready to face their true feelings, but will love teach them the ultimate lesson of all?
My Thoughts
Author Info:
Talk about melting into an ooey gooey mess. Where to begin? So, we have Connor who likes to have a little fun when it comes to the ladies, but it seems like he caught in a rut. The heroine hates cliché phrases. Now Ella is a single mom trying to take care of her son. She's also an english professor at the local college. Now how do you get a womanizer and a professor together? Nothing like going back to school.
Connor believes he can remove the stick up Ella's butt, yet she doesn't give him an inch. (Yes, I will probably be filled with clichés). Ella's class is the last thing he needs to fulfill his graduation requirements, but he has a hard time with some of the reading choices Ella provides. I actually love the banter between these two, because at the beginning we see Connor trying to survive the class. As he gets to know Ella and her son, he starts to understand the writing in the stories. Does he like some of the writing, no. He broaden his horizons. Along the way he starts to develop true feelings for Ella and Luke, but being who he is he has to guard his heart in a dumbassery way. I like that Ella doesn't give him an inch. Good thing he has a loving brother who points him the right direction.
Overall, I enjoyed watching Connor and Ella go head to head. The classroom brawls were probably my favorite. Connor definitely won bonus points for being a good guy to Luke. Might as well leave on a favorite quote:
