Dare to Seduce
Dare to Love, 8
Carly Phillips
Blurb:
This book can be read as a standalone!
Max Savage has had a thing for Lucy Dare for as long as he can remember but he values his long standing friendship with her brothers too much to cross the line. When Lucy shows up at an engagement party on the arm of another man, Max doesn't like the changes he sees in her.
It's now or never. Max can think of one way to convince Lucy she's with the wrong guy. He'll dare to seduce her...
My Thoughts:
All right, I was giving a chance to read Dare to Seduce, which happens to be eighth installment of the Dare to Love books. Like the previous books, its fairly fast read with some hot steamy scenes, and of course another Dare finding love.
We have Lucy Dare who has shield herself from finding true love, because if you are not fully committed to love a person you can't get hurt. It's fine and dandy, but it could hurt others in the long run. Fortunately, Lucy had found a douche that didn't mind the circumstance. Actually, he tried to model Lucy into the image he wanted. Lucas never cared for Lucy and there were signs when she was attending her brother's engagement party and he wonder how much longer he had to stay. However, the douchiest act was when he called her a whore, time to say bye-bye. Lucy wasn't inclined to see that as a blessing. You gotta give Max credit for being patient and willing to bide his time. Max, seriously was a patient towards Lucy. Yes, he did give her the time of her life, but Lucy did try to hold back.
Both these characters have insecurities, but Max has been able to deal with them with a help of a friend. Lucy tended to bottle them off and isolate herself emotionally. By the end of Dare to Seduce I hoping Lucy would come to her sense before she lost the love of her life. I did like how Carly was able to get Lucy to open her eyes to what she could be missing out in life. So, if you are looking for a quick read with a little steam and characters that need to over come their emotional isolation and willing to dare to love, you might give Dare to Seduce a try. The great thing about these stories, you don't worry about missing anything in the previous books, because they are find as a standalone.
