My Thoughts:
It's always good when a story can put a smile on your face, and Truly Sweet certainly does that. We have finally arrived to final Wilder boy, Jake. Now Jake has just returned from the sandbox and has no clear direction to go. However, he knows that he's damage goods can't save anyone, after all he lost his best friend. Now Annie has been loved with Jake forever, but she would never really reveal that. Nope she rather exchange barbs than reveal her true feelings. Yep, we hide those feelings just in case they don't reciprocate them. She also has to lookout for her son, who is the most important man in her life.
Truly Sweet is definitely a sweet read. It will have you laughing out loud and make you feel all sort of feelings. We get to watch Jake try to avoid his feelings for Annie cause she's just not a one time kind of girl. We watch Annie trying to be the friend Jake needs. Good thing they see that it's perfectly fine to fall for one another. One of the things that helps Jake is:
"Verbally giving it life changes a lot. Admitting the truth. Lashing out at the unfairness gives you the power to fight back. To breathe. To live. To find happiness you might never have imagined."However, true to Wilder men standards it takes Jake a few tries, and he's lucky to have Annie who is truly patient. In essence Truly Sweet definitely has that sugary sweet ending that makes you wish there was more to come, but all things must come to an end.
