Mutiny of the Heart by Jennifer Bray-Weber (Review)

Today I bring you a swashbuckling tale called Mutiny of the Heart by Jennifer Bray-Weber. Seriously, I love using that word, anyway. In this tale we find pirates. YAY! However, what the blurb doesn't tell you is there is a love-triangle. What, what, what! Do you know I detest a love-triangles? Here's why you always get a loser. Granted it's a great lead to a new story, but it's an emotional drainer. It just wreaks havoc on a person. Don't get me wrong the story is good, but it's a love-triangle.

Lets meet the key players in the story:
We have Captain Joelle Quint who wants to figure this mystery her left so long ago. Some may believe it's crazy that she continues to search for it, but it's her last connection to her father.

Sloan Ricker the slave who was bought by Joelle. Yet he has a skill she needs. For exchange of helping her figure out the map she will offer him his freedom. Sounds like a good trade.

We have Valeryn who is jealous of Sloan cause he's taking Joelle's attention away from him. He's in love with Joelle, but he kind of burned sometime ago. Good job lover boy, so now he has competition. Let's not forget he's the first mate.

So, we have a lady pirate, a slave boy, and a first mate. Of course Sloan and Valeryn are two alpha males circling around each other most of the book.

Aside from the love-triangle the story is pretty good. We find a lot of action in Mutiny of the Heart, and actually it's the battles that grabbed my attention more than the love story. Then again the love-triangle issue. I just couldn't wrapped my brain with the idea with Joelle still having feelings for Valeryn after learning what he had done to her. There shouldn't have been a real choice when it came to choosing between Sloan and Valeryn. However, she still had feelings for Valeryn. Mutiny of the Heart is a good story if you love pirates and love-triangles. I love one out of the two things. Even with the love-triangle I did like the ending, and it was a feel good kind of ending.
