Cara Connelly's second Save the Date novel proves that opposites do attract...

The Playboy

Sexy billionaire Adam LeCroix has a mission: hunt down the sultry spitfire he blames for his troubles, demand her help, and exact revenge while he's at it. Maddie St. Clair will help him . . . or else.

The Prosecutor

Former prosecutor Maddie damn near nailed Adam for stealing, but the lucky bastard walked. Now, five years later, he's back, arrogant as ever, giving her an ultimatum—work for him to collect the insurance money, or she'll never work again.

The Problem

Maddie's all about right and wrong. Adam's shades of gray. So when he uncovers the hot body under her hard-ass veneer and she finds he's a thief with a heart, can the law-and-order lawyer and the fast-and-loose felon put their prickly past behind them?

My Thoughts:
So, I was able to read The Wedding Vow by Cara Connelly. I have to say that this is my first time reading her work, and I have to say that I enjoyed the story. I mean whats not to love about the story. First off, you have Maddie sees the world in black and white, right and wrong. Idealistic sounds fantastic, but not practical. In The Wedding Vow she kind of comes off as a bitch. There is no other way to describe her. However, as the story unfolds and you see why who she is the way she is. Her past shaped her to seek out justice. So, working for some like Adam really chaps her hid. Then you have Adam who sees the world in all shades of gray. Yes, he's a billionaire and a thief. The more I thought about why he steals art work, it actually made me think of Robin Hood. I know that's a bit of a tangent, but in his own way he seeking out justice. Morally not the best way, but are we going to do about it. Anyway, Adam needs help trying to get the insurance company to follow through with a claim, but they are unwilling the budge cause of his tarnish past, thanks to Maddie. So, he manipulates the situation to get Maddie to help him. All right, there is some serious animosity between these two. However, they need to work together, which in itself is a challenge. It all goes back to there perspective on life.

I liked The Wedding Vow cause you have two people that are complete opposite with so much sexual tension between the two them. You see Maddie as a true cynic on the concept of love, so when Adam starts showing some affection towards her she starts to get all prickle. Normally you find men playing defensively when it comes to love. It surprising that Adam actually believes in love and romance cause of his upbringing. Compare to Maddie he's like Ms. Mary Sunshine. I like how Adam tries to show Maddie that he's more than a billionaire playboy. She's a really hard shell to crack. He actually does a lot of sweet things for Maddie.

Overall, The Wedding Vow is a pretty good read. Yes, you can feel the sexual tension between these two. Some people might find Adam's thoughts a bit offensive, but I'm thinking he's probably thinking like a typical guy. Anyway, when Maddie and Adam do get together it's explosive. However, they do face some serious challenges like their views on what is right and wrong, of course overcoming past.
